Medical delegation to Chiapas

by Tom Hansen, Jan 11, 1999

Join a delegation of medical professionals who will visit Chiapas, Mexico, from February 28 to March 6. The delegation will investigate health care needs in indigenous communities and evaluate clinics for a future program of medical aid. A report authored by the delegation will be distributed in the health care and donor communities and to members of Congress. This report will launch a medical aid campaign to supply indigenous health clinics with supplies and equipment.

Health professionals from all areas of the health care community are invited. Delegates will visit three indigenous clinics and meet with health professionals and NGO's. The cost of $400 includes hotels, food, ground transportation and translation. Spanish fluency is not required. Participants are responsible for their own plane reservations. We recommend using our travel agent, Scott at 800-328-1332, who has experience with the itinerary and connecting flights.
