Jackson, Washington, Harrison County Democratic Parties Endorse Strickland for Governor

Columbus, Ohio - The Strickland for Governor campaign today announced that Ted Strickland has won the endorsements of county Democratic Party organizations in Jackson, Washington and Harrison counties.

"We fully support Ted Strickland because he's always been there for us," said Rodney Smith, chair of the Jackson County Democratic Party.  "We know Ted's heart; we know what he stands for and that his integrity is impeccable. We can count on Ted's values and leadership to return Ohio to its rightful stature as a great state."

"Ted Strickland is the best man to lead Ohio," said Samuel Davis, Washington County Democratic Party Chair. "Ted has represented this area well for a long time. He has always done a good job and we know he'll do the same as governor. He's as honest and as hard working as they come."

"Ted will bring honesty and integrity back to our State government," said Rich Milleson, chair of the Harrison County Democratic Party. "Seldom do we have a candidate with Ted's passion and optimism. Ted's deep understanding of Ohio's issues will enable him to restore Ohio to the economic prominence that all Ohioans deserve. He will be a great Governor."

"I am very humbled and thankful that Democrats in these three great counties have chosen to endorse my candidacy," Strickland said. "I pledge to work tirelessly to restore citizens' confidence in our state by giving them a government that is as honest and as hard working as the citizens of this great state."

Strickland has also been endorsed by Democratic Party organizations in Noble, Belmont, Meigs, Geauga, Vinton, Putnam, Scioto, Ross, Clinton, Columbiana, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Hocking, Pike, Jefferson and Warren Counties.

Strickland represented Jackson, Ross, Clinton, Highland, Hocking, Pike, Vinton and Warren counties in Congress until 2003. Washington, Jefferson, Columbiana, Scioto, Gallia, Meigs, Noble and Belmont counties are in his current Congressional district. He has never represented Harrison, Geauga, Brown or Putnam County.
