Departments Letters to the Editor/ Free Press Forum Presidential debates by Jake Frazer November 22, 2007 Wow! I don't know about you, but man I am glad that these presidential debates are around the corner! That means that Bush's term is coming to an long anticipated end. We can finally get our country back on track. 500 billion dollars lost, wasted, thrown away in Iraq. We seem to care, well at least our politicians and Bush, about Iraqis more than the over 36 million Americans that live in poverty. Is this America? Is this the country our founding fathers created? Are we living the American dream or are we forgetting about everyone else? Well at least we are world police and not police for our own citizens. Right? Well all I know is that we are sitting and watching all of this happen before our eyes! We could have helped starving children of Africa, but our government decided to buy big jets and lose thousands of innocent lives! How about the 1 billion children living in poverty! Imagine your kids like that! Do you agree with this? Did you decide this? If no then use your first amendment and challenge YOUR government because I wont sit here and watch our country turn into a dictatorship!
