America's Orange King suggested that Americans should support military action against Iran, claiming it was necessary to eliminate threats from the Iranian regime and protect the American people. We must not forget that the King is a pedophile, racist, misogynist, narcissist and a liar. In this case, the lie is that the American people were in any way threatened by Iran.
I am a patriotic American who despairs at the current state of affairs in America. I hope the American Empire is defeated because I yearn for a peaceful world.
America turned away from peace when the National Security State assassinated President Kennedy in 1963, five months after his American University peace speech. What followed was an effort to continue creation of the American Empire, but there was some restraint. After the fall of the Soviet Union, there was talk of a peace dividend as expressed by George H.W. Bush and Margaret Thatcher. America could finally move towards minimizing the enormous expense of Empire and make Kennedy's dream a reality.
Powerful people within and outside of government were hell bent on Empire, so they came up with the Project for the New American Century, which involved toppling the governments of 7 countries in 5 years. The countries targeted were Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran. The people involved in this plan were Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Robert Kagan, Victoria Nuland, Bill Kristol, Richard Pearl, John Bolton Donald Rumsfeld and other neocons. When the 2000 election was stolen from Al Gore, Dick Cheney became Vice President, where he was in position to create the greatest false flag attack in history. The attacks on September 11, 2001 became the impetus for the American Empire to build military bases throughout the Middle East, and catalyzed the plan to topple these seven countries, albeit behind schedule.
The date of 9/11 became the date that America became a Perpetual War Machine. Besides these seven countries, Venezuela, Cuba and Yemen have recently been victimized. President Biden ended the 19 year war in Afghanistan in order to provoke yet another proxy war against Russia over NATO membership, with Ukraine and Russia both being victimized. The Empire already has plans to attack China, not because they are a military threat but because the are an economic competitor.
The reasons to hate the American Empire are numerous.
Israel's psychopathic Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
After the strikes began, Netanyahu told a reporter that he had fulfilled his dream to bomb Iran thanks to Trump. “This coalition of forces allows us to do what I have yearned to do for 40 years,” he declared. Netanyahu has controlled/influenced the American government for years via Jeffrey Epstein's blackmail operation and the financial contributions thru AIPAC and other political contributions. The Zionist influence has taken out many Senators and Congress persons so that those who want to remain know what they need to support.
Failed States is the Goal
The Empire's goal is to create failed states as it has successfully done in Libya and Syria. The Empire could not care less about the effect on the residents of these countries, nor does it care how many must be killed to achieve the goals of the Ruling Class. The goals are not the same as the goals of the people as described by Michael Parenti.
America support of Genocide
America's support of Israel's genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank is a perfectly good reason to hate the Empire.
America National Debt
America's debt and deficit have reached staggering proportions ($37.8 trillion dollars) due to the cost of maintaining the Empire. The Orange King recently bragged that he will increase the military budget from a record of 1 trillion dollars to 1.5 trillion dollars. Meanwhile, Americans cannot have universal health care, social security is continually threatened, and there is little money for programs that help average Americans.
Iranian Restraint
Iran demonstrated enormous restraint over the years while being demonized with constant propaganda claiming they supported terrorism. On 3 January 2020, Qasem Soleimani, an Iranian major general, was assassinated by an American drone strike ordered by U.S. president Trump. Iran's response was minimal. Then, in June 2025 the Twelve-Day War began when Israel bombed military and nuclear facilities in Iran in a surprise attack assassinating prominent military leaders, nuclear scientists,and politicians, killing civilians, and damaging or destroying air defenses. Although Iran responded, it was with restraint, ultimately accepting the loses.
America's duplicitous conduct continued as it negotiated with Iran right up until the current attack, when the initial wave killed most of the people negotiating for peace, despite the fact that Iran had agreed the terms that the Empire demanded. Not only was the country attacked, but also the negotiators were targeted and killed in the first wave.
After WWII, America and it's allies created the Geneva Conventions, which put a framework around how wars could be waged. Basically, laws of war were created by America but are no longer followed. Collective punishment (Gaza), torture and assassination of leaders were prohibited but are a defining feature of this Empire.
Murder.
The American government murders people. Leaders of targeted countries, such as Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Qasem Soleimani, Saddam Hussein, Muammar Gaddafi and many others scientists and politicians were simply murdered. In addition to heads of state, the Empire has no problem murdering fisherman off the coast of Venezuela, or 150 girls in Iran.
Trump's incompetent administration
The incompetence of the current administration is astounding. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, and Trump himself are incompetent fools, which is demonstrated by their inability to articulate a goal or explain how this war will end.
Venezuela and Cuba
The attacks on Venezuela and Cuba are illegal and immoral, as well as threats against Greenland.
Global Warming
The Ruling Class prefers the term “climate change” and then prevents even those words from being used in government documents, but the rest of the world understands what many Americans refuses to believe. This despite the fires and floods, and despite the wars for oil resources. The American Military is the biggest contributor to global warming. It's very existence forces military competition in the rest of the world, thus compounding the global warming problem.
Jeffrey Epstein
Floating above the fray is the ghost of Epstein, if he is indeed dead (which I doubt).
There are many people in America who understand the danger and the solutions. My favorite is Jeffrey Sachs. I urge all American's to follow professor Jeffrey Sachs visions for a peaceful world. (here, here and here as well as many more interviews, books and publications).
My criticism of the American Empire precedes the current madness by 20 years. Decent peace loving people should not be shamed into supporting the immoral and violent American Empire. Americans talk of peace but the people are unable to stop the perpetual war machine. Historically, all Empires fall. How will the American Empire fall, when will it cease to exist? The American people will soon feel the additional weight of the cost of Empire.
We must not forget that voting does not solve the problem, as the only candidates allowed to participate are pro war. Antiwar candidates need not apply.
We must demand peace and oppose our evil Empire.
