Columbus Hearing on Draft Data Center Policy

Columbus City Council is holding another public hearing on data center policy Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 5:30 PM.

At the last hearing, 24 people testified, and the message from the room was clear: residents want stronger protections before more data centers move forward. Speakers raised concerns about water use, electric grid impacts, pollution, transparency, public oversight, and the speed of development. Several called for a moratorium while the city studies the impacts and puts stronger safeguards in place.

This next hearing is another chance for Columbus residents to weigh in as Council considers updated policy proposals. You can testify in person, virtually, or in writing.
