Israel Is a Liability, Not an Asset to the U.S.

Americans should know that the state of Israel is a liability, not an asset to the United States. Israel has pressured U.S. administrations since George W. Bush to fight its wars in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, and Iran under false pretenses—costing U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars and the lives of more than 5,000 American soldiers.

Most recently, Israel attempted to sabotage the Iran–U.S. peace deal aimed at ending the war by committing a massacre against civilian targets in Lebanon and by trying to seize more land beyond the Litani River, despite the fact that the agreement between the U.S. and Iran stipulates that the ceasefire applies to all fronts, including Lebanon.

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance castigated Israeli officials on Thursday for refusing to support the U.S. nuclear deal with Iran, accusing far‑right cabinet ministers of lacking appreciation for American support. He made the case for the newly signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) during a White House press briefing.

Vice President Vance, who was assigned by the President to promote the MOU internationally, said, “Donald J. Trump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time. And he happens to be the head of state of the world’s superpower.”

A newspaper owned by Miriam Adelson, a billionaire Republican megadonor, published a blistering opinion piece accusing President Trump of betraying Israel over the Iran deal and calling both Trump and Vance inappropriate names. According to The Times of Israel, Adelson is one of Trump’s biggest financial backers and one of the most influential pro‑Israel donors in Republican politics.

In the column, Israel Hayom journalist Danny Zaken praised Trump’s past support for Israel but claimed the president had made a “colossal mistake” by signing what he called a “surrender agreement” with Tehran. Zaken conveniently ignored the fact that Adelson’s son served in the IDF instead of enlisting in the U.S. military, even though both he and his mother hold U.S. citizenship.

Israel Is Not a Friend of the U.S.

  • Israel is not a friend of the U.S. It is an anchor—and a very expensive one.
  • Israeli soldiers and settlers have killed at least 10 U.S. citizens since 2022. None of the cases resulted in criminal charges.
  • Israel receives $3.8 billion annually in U.S. military and economic aid—mathematically, $10 million per day.
  • Israel has spied on the U.S., stolen top‑secret information, and sold it to adversaries.
  • Israel has killed U.S. citizens in cold blood. (Google the USS Liberty and Rachel Corrie.)
  • Israel kidnapped and tortured former U.S. Marine Ken O’Keefe and former U.S. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney.
  • Israel kidnapped and tortured Prof. Tom Hayes and Dr. Maria Brunette, both part of the 2026 Global Sumud Flotilla.
  • Israel interfered in U.S. elections, most recently in last year’s NYC mayoral race, when it urged New Yorkers to move to Florida if Zohran Mamdani won.

It is time to cut bait and move on. The U.S. has too many problems at home. America does not need to ask Israel to withdraw its occupying army from Lebanon—it should demand it and make clear that U.S. funding is in jeopardy, perhaps permanently. Trump and Vance should remind Israel who butters its bread.

Neither Iran nor Lebanon will tolerate IDF attacks on their territories, and both will extract a heavy price for such actions. While Hezbollah fighters target Israeli occupying forces in Lebanon, the IOF primarily retaliates against civilian targets.

Yesterday, one day before the Geneva Summit, the IOF massacred 17 Lebanese civilians—including a young couple and their three daughters—in Haroun, southern Lebanon. This mirrors Gaza, where thousands of Palestinian families have been erased from the civil registry by the IDF, meaning their names and records have been removed from official databases tracking births, deaths, marriages, and other vital events.

The U.S. needs to get out of business with Israel and let it deal with the Palestinians and Lebanese on its own. Pro‑genocide voices in the U.S. (Laura Loomer, Sen. Ted Cruz, Ben Shapiro, and Mark Levin) continue pushing for American intervention, putting the interests of a foreign state ahead of those of the United States.

The solution is simple: cut off American taxpayer funding to Israel. That will get its attention. This is not self‑defense—Israel is out of control.

All U.S. aid to Israel must stop. Israel has the right to defend itself, but not land it occupies by force. I actually agree with something Trump said: Israel has only one true ally left, and it is on the verge of losing that. There is no scenario in which Israel allows peace in the region. Even if it means attacking another American ship—remember the Liberty. Israel appears intent on sabotaging the talks between the U.S. and Iran.

True, Israel did not sign the MOU. But the MOU states that Israel will end its war in Lebanon. Israel is defying Trump, who apparently “has no cards” with Israel because of the powerful Israeli lobby influencing both Republican and Democratic parties. Until those changes, no progress will be made. Meanwhile, 67% of Americans now view Israel negatively.

Finally, Israel has turned into a terrorist state, and it is time for the U.S. to cut ties. Israel is a liability, not an asset to the United States.
