Klan flyers appear in Worthington and Clintonville
Ku Klux Klan recruitment flyers, dressed up as a "neighborhood watch," have been scattered across neighborhoods in Worthington and Clintonville. The NAACP Columbus Branch 3177 condemns them.
This is nothing new. Flyers like these have been left at homes in Clintonville, Worthington, and across Central Ohio for years. The names on the paper change. The tactic does not.
The Klan wants attention. If they truly wish to be acknowledged, they should take off the hoods, show their faces, and stand in the daylight. Instead, they hide behind paper and anonymity. That is cowardice, and cowardice does not earn our attention.
Make no mistake: we too are Americans on guard. We will ensure that none of our members and none of our neighbors are intimidated in any way.
Without faces or names, the only people living in fear are the ones who left these flyers. We have nothing to fear. Their words are as empty as their threats.
As they move in the darkness of hate, we will stand together in the light. We call on all of Central Ohio to protect one another.
If you find these flyers, photograph them, do not engage, and report them to info@naacp614.org.
