Dear Editor,

Should President Bush be impeached?  That’s a very interesting and highly controversial question to be answered in the light of current situations going on today.  However, I feel that this question might have to address once again.  Since the very beginning of President Bush’s second term, the majority of American citizens have taken special interest in his ways of dealing with the Iraqi War, unethical procedures on International foreign diplomacy, his pro-Christian ideology on marriage, the mishandling of New Orleans’ natural disaster (Katrina), and now this current eavesdropping fiasco in dealing with National Security and Terrorism.  But, a verbal minority of Americans believe that the president has deliberately violated the US Constitution and is trying to re-establish a Neo-American Imperialism once formulated by a past president a hundred years ago…namely Theodore Roosevelt and should be hear by impeached.  Their convictions are warranted for formal debate…he has done some unconstitutional acts that could very well lead to his impeachment.

Now, take in point…his legal successor…Vice President Dick Cheney…a man who too has a somewhat questionable background in obstructing justice and abusing constitutional power.  But, we must often remind ourselves that the current presidential cabinet still remains firmly in place in implementing post-Bush policy after he is gone.  My argument is to formally remove a “political tyrant” from the highest office of the country and then replace him with another is not of illogical but ludicrous.  And, if we find that President Cheney is totally unsuitable for this high post due to constitutional negligence…do we impeach him as well!

Today, the current line of presidential succession after Cheney is the Speaker of the House Hastert…a loyal Republican and strong supporter of Bush’s policies.  Next is the President Pro-Temp of the Senate Stevens and another strong supportive Republican.  Then, follows Bush’s entire cabinet members all the way down the line to run the country.  As one can purely see that in order to impeach President Bush from office and reclaim the status quo of the nation once more, we would have to remove every single person in the presidential succession all together.  This would not only be cost effective to the US taxpayers but a full waste of time in the long run.  This is Bush’s last term in office and Cheney has firmly stated he would not run for president after him, so let George go hang himself for his unconstitutional crimes in the public annals of American history and as being the worst president in our time.  Every president (great or weak) since the very beginning has done something that could be deemed unconstitutional.  I thank you for your consideration of my letter.

Yours,
