Friends of the Lower Olentangy Watershed, or FLOW, will host their first ever 5K race and family fun run/walk on October 4th.

The course takes runners and walkers through Liberty Park in Powell where they’ll see and learn about different stormwater management practices to reduce flooding and erosion, and keep pollution out of our watershed.

This event will spotlight Stormwater Awareness Week in Ohio (which is October 1 st through the 7th), in an effort to educate the public on how stormwater pollution affects our land, water, and farms, and what steps we can take to prevent it.

Proceeds from the race will benefit FLOW, allowing them to continue their conservation work in the lower Olentangy watershed, a roughly 150 square mile area that includes a 32-mile stretch of the river, plus nearly 400 miles of
tributaries.

You can choose the 5K or the 1.5-mile fun run. Participants can register at tinyurl.com/FLOW5K. All runners will receive a goodie bag with items from the race sponsors.
