Black Creek Bistro features a special vegan menu every Thursday, which augments their regular menu that is otherwise generally sparse of vegan options. Regardless, my experience has been that they live up to their reputation for being one of the finer dining restaurants in Columbus. Although the menu appears to only contain the standing token vegan option of hummus and a potentially veganizable salad and pasta entre, they are happy to accommodate a vegan no matter what day one shows up with something special. Vegans really appreciate that. Black Creek Bistro is exactly the kind of restaurant I would see embracing a delectable vegan artisan nut or legume-based cheese appetizer or a creamy coconut or macadamia nut based whipping cream for a decadent dessert for their special menu. Frankly, it could easily become a standing dessert option as one need not be vegan to enjoy vegan delights and, when well done, everyone just loves delicious food. Why should vegans never be worthy of dessert?

Black Creek Bistro strives to organically grow and/or locally source much of the produce that creates their meals. Other important social justice practices include recycling and using restaurant waste for compost. www.veganshift.org launches 7.1.2014 to empower people who want to live in alignment with their values of nonviolence, peace, justice, dignity, respect, compassion, empathy and kindness toward all earthlings.

Black Creek Bistro is located at 51 Parsons Ave, Columbus, OH 43215 Open Monday-Thur, 11am-10pm Fri, 11am-10pm, Sat 11am-4pm Closed Sunday
