Rally

WHO: Local leaders including members of G92 and Springfield Neighbors United.

WHAT: A vigil in support of Haitians who fled violence in their home country and became important members of our community

WHEN: Thursday, June 25 at 6 p.m.

WHERE: Springfield City Hall, 76 E High St, Springfield, OH 45502

WHY: The MAGA justices of the Robert’s Court have made yet another terrible ruling that will unleash human suffering in communities across the nation. The Miot et al. v. Trump et al. decision allows President Trump to move forward with revoking the Temporary Protected Status of Haitian and Syrian immigrants who fled violence and upheaval in their home countries. The decision will have serious ramifications for Ohio, which is home to about 45,000 Haitians with temporary status. One-quarter of Springfield’s population is made up of Haitian immigrants. They have boosted the economy by filling jobs, starting businesses and revitalizing neighborhoods. They are valued members of the Springfield community and residents will come out tonight to show their support.
