URGENT: On June 10, lawmakers passed House Bill 472, anti-voter legislation that would end vote-by-mail in Ohio as we know it. The bill is awaiting Governor DeWine's action, he has until June 24 to veto or sign this terrible bill into law.

Tell Governor DeWine to VETO HB 472.

What began as a straightforward, nonpartisan bill addressing fees for birth certificates and IDs for homeless individuals was shamefully amended into an unrecognizable piece of legislation enacting photo ID requirements for absentee ballots.

The bill utilizes vague, confusing language to create a photo ID verification portal and/or requires Ohio voters to submit a photocopy of their driver's license when voting by mail. Protecting our right to privacy is a top concern at the ACLU of Ohio, and HB 472 leaves voters vulnerable to identity theft.

Governor DeWine must save vote-by-mail and protect our right to privacy by rejecting this bill.

Join us in urging Governor DeWine to veto HB 472: Take action.
