In mid-September, the Ohio House of Representatives returned from summer break, hearing committees again for the first time. While their immediate focus will likely be congressional redistricting and various property tax reform proposals, we're keeping a watchful eye out for updates on several harmful anti-LGBTQ+ bills, including:
HB 162: The "My Child-My Chart Act" HB 262: Designating "Natural Family Month"HB 249: The Drag BanThe Ohio Senate will also be back from recess shortly, and in both chambers we're paying close attention to rumors about potential veto overrides of the anti-LGBTQ+ measures Governor DeWine struck from the budget in June.
Wednesdays downtown:
Wednesday Husted and Moreno Protest, 12-1pm, 200 N High St, Columbus.
Senators Bernie Moreno and John Husted are supporting the fascist takeover of our democracy.
Let's hold them accountable to the people and taxpayers of Ohio. Their offices are both at 200 N High St, with lots of public visibility!

Did you know you can write letters to immigrants in detention, even if you don’t personally know someone detained?
The U.S. government is now detaining a record number of immigrants, and reportedly plans to almost double their detention capacity by the end of 2025. This includes a renewed emphasis on detaining families, including those with young children.
If you feel helpless when hearing about the high number of immigrants being detained by ICE, there is a way to respond with hope and care. Our friends at Casa de Paz have
graciously agreed to host us for a private Zoom training where we’ll learn how to correspond with detainees.
If you want to take this step in supporting our immigrant neighbors, join us on Monday, September 22, at 8 PM ET / 7 PM CT to learn more about becoming a pen pal with
Casa de Paz.
