Data Center Gas Plants - Testimony and Commenting Workshop

Ohio is adding new utility scale gas plants to power data centers at an alarming rate -- 12 proposed and approved in the last year alone totaling 5300 MW -- plus the 9200 MW gas plant planned to power data centers at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant. If all are built to full operation, they could create 84.3 million tons of NEW greenhouse gas pollution per year – more than the country of Singapore – just as the world is entering a climate tipping point. 

While several data center gas plants have already been approved -- some with no public notice and no public hearing -- two have public hearings coming up: -- NEO Power Generation Facility, a 500 MW gas plant proposed to power Meta's Prometheus data center in New Albany -- PowerConneX 3 North, a 450 MW gas plant to power EdgeConneX data centers in New Albany Learn how YOU can push back against these two gas plants by submitting a written comment and testifying at a public hearing. 

Save Ohio Parks will hold a Testimony and Commenting Workshop on two dates: 
Tuesday, September 22, at 7 p.m. and 
Tuesday September 29, at 7 p.m. 

Our workshop will go over:

- How to submit written comments 
- What makes a strong public comment 
- When and where to go for each public hearing 
- What to expect at a public hearing 
- What makes strong public testimony While every written comment helps, it is even better to testify at a public hearing. 

This is sworn testimony, so it is taken more seriously – and since much of the gas will come from fracking Ohio state parks and wildlife areas, all Ohioans have an interest. The two workshops will cover the same material, so come to whichever one fits your schedule. Your registration gets you into either or both.
