The Columbus Sanctuary Collective invites organizers, faith communities, activists, faith leaders, organizations, and individuals to a convening around the growing sanctuary movement in Ohio. Learning from our experience with Solidarity with Edith Espinal, we will gather to share what we have learned and how to continue and grow Sanctuary as Resistance.

Representatives from the People’s Justice Project of Columbus will talk to us about a 2018 ballot initiative called the Ohio Neighborhood Safety, Drug Treatment, and Rehabilitation Amendment that aims to reform the criminal justice system and reinvest millions of dollars into drug treatment and community-based recovery programs.

Workshops will examine ways to utilize faith as the foundation of powerful advocacy and whole-person care. During this time, participants will have the opportunity to gain and practice skills to support those navigating reproductive life decisions and the LGBTQ community.
