On February 25, Common Cause’s Catherine Turcer will discuss the recent history of gerrymandering in Ohio, its consequences, the subsequent citizen uproar, and the current reform plan that Ohioans overwhelmingly passed in 2018.

Transforming international trade policy is an important part of the Green New Deal, but many economic and environmental justice activists don’t have a firm understanding of exactly how today’s trade deals limit and constrain commonsense climate regulations and worker protections.
Currently, these deals are written largely by and for powerful corporations, and prioritize their profits over the needs of the planet and of workers across the globe.

Mia Lewis of Fair Districts/Fair Elections will be our guest to talk about the rules and process of the redistricting process here in Ohio this year. The redistricting will result in new legislative districts for both the Ohio House and Senate as well as newly-drawn Congressional districts. The rules for the processes differ slightly. Mia will begin her presentation shortly after 7pm. Join us at 6:30pm for a chance to chat for a few minutes before our meeting at 7pm.
