The threat from the dangers of fracking continues to build, quite literally, in Central Ohio as the fracking industry plans to construct a power plant on OSU’s main campus. State approval of the proposal would permit the piping in of fracking’s main product, natural gas, and its processing on the grounds of our beloved state university.

Join us for a “Defunding the Police 101” web-based training for people of faith on Tuesday, July 14, 12-2pm. This interactive training, in partnership with the Working Families Party, will explore the history of policing in our nation, its effect on Black communities, what “defunding the police” means, and ways for faith communities to work together in the movement for justice.

This Health and Safety Training will focus on how to prepare for a protest, proper gear to carry, protecting oneself and others from chemical weapons, police crowd control tactics, and what to do for proper after care. We will discuss our new statewide structure and platform, explain the working groups, and start to dialog about regional issues and strategies to engage with our impacted communities given the current health crisis.
