Sowing the Seeds of Peace: Local peace economy gathering

As we watch horrors now happening around the globe it is so necessary to join in our community of care. Jodie will nourish your troubled hearts with stories from her time in Venezuela last week.

We have been learning together how to reclaim peace in our lives, even as the world spirals around us. How do we plant seeds in our community of the peace economy, tenderly water the fragile shoots, provide warmth and light and structure, and ultimately harvest a garden of community?

As the ground thaws and the soil warms, we are planting seeds of peace in ourselves and in our communities. Let's explore together how to meet the spring thaw as violence and wars rage around the world and inside the US.

Thank you to all of you who joined us for last week's Local Peace Economy Gathering on February 18th. If you missed the conversation, we focused the deep roots of what it means to be human: cooperation and connection. The conversation grounded us in the reality that being alive is not rooted in individualism and competition -- that is a lie the war-economy tells us. Being human means being connected and relational. Empathy and cooperative organization is the human default, and the Local Peace Economy recognizes and honors this truth.
