How to Resist

How We Win

Join us for an important, informative, and empowering conversation with Steve Volk, Professor of History Emeritus at Oberlin College in Ohio, who has been active in immigration issues for 20 years.

The Trump-Stephen Miller immigration policies are designed around cruelty - to prevent immigrants from coming, encourage immigrants to "self-deport," and put those who remain into a perpetual state of panic and fear. What they didn't count on was that performances of cruelty can also create acts of resistance and opposition.

In this Zoom forum, we'll talk about what rights EVERYONE in the country, regardless of immigration status, enjoys; how they have been challenged; and how we are fighting back. We'll cover the rights we have when protesting, and the multiple ways opposition to Trump's policies has grown, ultimately producing the massive -- and victorious -- resistance movement on the frozen streets of Minneapolis. Finally, we'll explore what is likely to come next for Trump and the opposition movement.

There will be time for questions. Please share yours when registering for the Zoom.
