Duty to Warn
It was in June that President Bush first began talking about “revisionist history”, a gambit that took some of us a little by surprise since he showed no previous signs of having read any history, revisionist or otherwise.
This was a little after he delayed the homecoming of several hundred American sailors by using their aircraft carrier to proclaim that the war was over. But if the war was over, and the point was to be rid of Saddam’s weapons of mass destruction, why were no weapons of mass destruction found, not even at the sites the U.S. said it had identified? It was those who were impertinent enough to raise this question that the president accused of revisionist history.
There’s been a lot of revisionist history around lately, from the president, and from the Democrats who are trying to distance themselves from a war that they couldn’t support strongly enough less than a year ago.

The unfortunate poor, uneducated, ghetto drug addicts get 25 years in “real jail”. People in real, chronic, severe pain that are tormented for life are in their own “society imposed jail” with no way to escape. And Rush Limbaugh gets to become a celebrity for getting caught, and turning his high powered Public Relations lawyers loose with the proper spin on Rush’s pitiful dilemma.
CNN and many TV news reports have fallen far short on high quality reports by only reporting on Rush Limbaugh's side of his addiction problem.
According to other sources Rush allegedly coerced and threatened his housekeeper to illegally obtain more than 4500 Oxycontin in 47 days. The implication from her is that he was in no apparent pain and was just a pill popper who liked the feeling (the rush) and didn’t mind risking being addicted.

Forget about the Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger is taking on a new role as Governor-elect of California: The Deregulator.
One of Schwarzenegger's first political moves as the state's chief executive will be an effort to push the state's electricity market closer toward deregulation, a move halted by Gov. Gray Davis two years ago in the wake of California's energy crisis. Schwarzenegger, while on the campaign trail, blamed Davis for his handling of the energy crisis.
Schwarzennegger drafted a comprehensive energy policy, which can be found at www.joinarnold.com/en/agenda/#C1,
that went unnoticed for much of his campaign during the recall election. He said he wants to eliminate public oversight on future power supply contracts the state signs with energy companies and adopt a design plan for deregulating California's electricity market from other states that restructured its electricity markets, such as Texas, New Jersey and Maryland.

Dear Mr. Rove:
I write to ask you to resign from the White House staff. Recent press reports have indicated that, while you may or may not have been the source of the Robert Novak column which revealed the status and name of a covert operative, the wife of Ambassador Joseph Wilson, you were involved in a subsequent effort to push this classified information to other reporters and give it even wider currency.
This itself may be a federal crime, but regardless of that fact, your actions are morally indefensible.
In my view, it is shameful and unethical that an Administration that promised to govern with "honor and integrity" and "change the tone" in Washington has now engaged in an orchestrated campaign to smear and intimidate truth-telling critics, placing them in possible physical harm and impairing the efforts and operations of the CIA.

Like Bill Clinton, George Bush seems to have some Teflon -like qualities. It is unlikely that the leaker of the info on
Joe Wilson's wife's CIA connection will be identified. But as Bush and his bumbling team of lying incompetents continues
to thrash, like Godzilla, through the assets and resources of the USA, knocking them down, destroying them, and creating
chaos, the right wing is becoming and will become even more desperate. Here's a list of some desperate acts we can expect
the far right and their legislative stooges to take:
-more Texas and Colorado style gerrymandering
-Florida and Georgia style vote and voter roll list corruption
-dirt slinging and accusations (like Paula Jones) just as Gray Davis used on Arnold, who clearly, was guilty.
-distraction tactics, including:
a.. Iran or Syria war
b.. Inflammation of N. Korean situation, probably started by heightened polemic
c.. announcements of arrests of terrorists
d.. orange alerts
e.. Roe Vs. Wade abortion fight
f.. Church vs. State skirmishes like the 10 commandments in the Courthouse

California awoke one morning to find itself governed by a giant cockroach. It's official: we are now living inside a Kafka
novel-though even Kafka couldn't have predicted the turn of events that would bring us to this point. To be fair,
Schwarzenegger is not a hyper-violent, frozen, misogynist, monosyllabic robot. He just plays one onscreen. In reality, he
is-well, by now we all know who he is.
The frightening part is that the people of California knew, too. There is some indication that tracking polls showed his support slipping in the wake of all last week's revelations. Polls are tricky things, of course, but if this is true then the election happened just in time. The republicans have become adept at cherrypicking such opportunities and milking them for all they're worth.

Remember the hullabaloo about The End of History? There were many of us who scoffed then at its hubris, the sheer arrogance of thinking we
were “it.” Now, of course, even the adherents of such triumphalism are back in the trenches, forecasting their own gloom-and-obscene-profit
version of Permanent War. It’s as if the Cold War never ended—and just in the nick of time for them, too. This gives the right the opportunity to
revive that most heinous of Cold War anachronisms, the Loyal Opposition. Now the LO can be permanently kept toothless by the ever-present
threat of the New Cold War (remember: they have actually used these words). Some have even promised World War IV.
What questionable military program did both former President Clinton
and current resident President W. Bush support wholeheartedly? The
National Missile Defense (NMD) program. This program is a highly
suspicious use of our tax dollars and should be immediately scrapped.
The technology will continue to be extremely expensive to produce and
may never work, and allegations of scientific dishonesty in this program
have been made and merit close examination. Finally, this project is
not worth its social and monetary costs. Any Republican (or Democrat,
even) member of Congress who is actually not a hypocrite should be
screaming bloody murder over the taxes being siphoned down the drain by
this program.
Immigrant Workers Freedom Ride September 20-October 4th, 2003 - will arrive in Columbus, Ohio Sept. 29-30by Rick Wilhelm, Democratic Socialists of Central Ohio
What it is, and what the goals that are hoped to be achieved:
In 1961, the Freedom Rides were organized by activists to challenge segregation on interstate buses and bus termi nals. Riding from Washington, D.C. to Montgomery, Alabama, the rides met violent opposition in the Deep South, garnering extensive media attention and eventually forcing federal intervention from the Kennedy administration.
The Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) first started Freedom Rides in 1947. CORE concentrated on busing segregation in that campaign and mainly in the border southern states. What they conceived was called the Journey of Reconciliation, which is considered a precursor to the Freedom Rides and the civil rights movement of the 60’s.

It’s the second anniversary of 9-11 and we still don’t have answers
Did President George W. Bush and
his governing consortium know of
the impending attack on the World Trade Towers and the Pentagon and intentionally allow to occur?
This question seems almost unthinkable, yet so obviously in need of an answer that it may as well be written across the sky. The report of the House and Senate intelligence committees does not address the question, which now belongs to the National Commission on Terror Attacks Upon the United States, chaired by Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton, to report by May 2004.
