The statewide coalition, Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence, will host over 200 people at their advocacy day at Ohio Statehouse on April 15th.
Advocacy Day at the Ohio Statehouse as part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. More than 200 participants will gather for a morning speaking program followed by meetings with lawmakers on issues related to sexual and domestic violence.
The morning program will include:
Survivor speakers sharing their experiences
Discussion of key legislation, including Ohio’s civil statute of limitations, the Safe Homes Act, and HB 723
Release of new statewide data on sexual violence and service needs
In the afternoon, participants will meet in small groups with legislators to discuss policy priorities and community needs.
