Bring your “bestie” or meet a new friend, while creating the perfect wall accessory for your home office or apartment. This socially-distanced activity is for anyone who wishes to explore a few simple design techniques and have some fun with pure imagination. No previous art experience is required. Join us and you’ll be on your way to a new creative you!

The pandemic has put a halt to the noise, allowing me to not only see, but to have the time to reflect.

Racism, sexism and classism stare me directly in the eyes.

So much hatred, deception and greed still exist in this country.

I was forced to memorize their rhetoric through history lessons and parables, forced to pledge allegiance to a country that clearly puts profit before people.

Leni D. Anderson is a self-taught artist who served as a M.P in the U.S. Army, earned a Masters Degree of Library and Information Science, a B.A. in Art History, an A.A in Humanities and Mental Health Services, and worked as a special collections librarian/archivist.

Leni’s unique world view has taught him to defend the rights of individuals and groups he may or may not agree with. It is this dichotomy in his personal and professional life that is reflected in his artwork.

Urban Scrawl is a two-day arts festival organized by the Franklinton Arts District that features the live creation of murals at 400 W. Rich St. by talented artists from central Ohio and beyond. Since 2007, Urban Scrawl has provided Columbus artists a way to showcase their talent while participating in Central Ohio’s largest ongoing urban renewal project. Each year, the number of participants, murals, sponsors, and attendees grows, making this a landmark summer event in Columbus, Ohio.

On Thursday, July 11, at 6:30pm, three poets will perform at the gallery. This will be great fun!! If you’ve never been, you should come.

Come on out to (not) Sheep Gallery in the Short North for a night of incredible local poets! The vision of (not) Sheep Gallery is to showcase art that is unapologetically political and powerful. This quarterly poetry show shares that vision and brings spoken word artists to the stage to showcase their stories.
