How have people made art to further democratic causes? Our August 28 Artist Commune explores techniques artists have used throughout history—like photojournalism and printmaking, among others—to combat oppression.

At this interactive art-making event, we invite practicing artists to share space and discuss democracy in their own artistic practice. You can bring your work-in-progress or create something new with our free supplies.

Solar Flare is a pop-up sculpture garden and art walk directed and curated by myself, with the support of the Greater Columbus Art Council. Each of the artists will work with a community garden on the East Side of Columbus, Ohio, to create custom artwork which will be displayed at each site.The community garden spaces will be open starting at 10am and closing at 8pm for the art walk. The total walk will take about 45 minutes to an hour to complete on foot. Stay tuned for timed events during the day, like poetry readings, performances, and workshops!

Join us at Nook as we celebrate the completion of a beautiful mural! We had a chance to collaborate with Adam Hernandez, through support of 614Beautiful, for this Southside mural. The work is inspired by the working class people who make our communities beautiful.

Come through and celebrate the hardworking people of our community! 

Join this event to create cardboard signs and banners for the Columbus climate rally. 

This is a great opportunity to express yourself while making sure no one can ignore us—or our message—at the rally the next day. Art supplies will be provided. Just bring yourself, some clothes you don’t care about getting paint on, and a friend!

On Minicomics Day, participating cartoonists from around the world write, draw, and print copies of a minicomics—completing the entire process from start to finish in a day or less. Anyone in the world can participate.

This FREE event is open to all ages.

A live art night honoring community figure Baba Shongo takes place on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 6 pm-7 pm, featuring performances, music, and art. This event is part of the "{Time...with Baba Shongo art exhibition at the William H. Thomas Art Gallery}" in Columbus, Ohio, which runs through February 21, 2026.

The event features live art, music, and performances, showcasing works and fostering community.
