This powerful documentary follows Sherry “Mama Hakima” Payne — a mother, nurse, and doula advocating for equitable maternal health care for Black women — and explores how racial bias impacts Black families.

We’re gathering in community to honor Black and Women’s History Months, celebrate Black joy, and uplift the lived experiences shaping maternal health conversations today. We also hold space in memory of Dr. Janell Green Smith, a Black maternal health advocate who passed during childbirth earlier this year
