When the Depression of the 1930s threw millions of Americans out of work and into poverty, Woody Guthrie told us their stories through song. He saw migrant workers slaving for pennies, penniless hobos riding in empty railroad boxcars, and the infamous Dust Bowl windstorms of Oklahoma stealing the land out from under the farmers.

The Merion Village Festival is back for 2022! This annual, outdoor, rain or shine event will continue to feature food trucks, live music, and entertainment, artists, crafters, businesses, and organizations as we celebrate the community and atmosphere of the Historic Merion Village neighborhood. All proceeds from this event benefit the Merion Village Association, a 501(c)(3) civic organization.

The September Free Press salon will be in-person, at the Hot Times Community Music and Arts Festival, on Saturday, September 10, 2022, 6:30-9pm.
We will gather in the “Kid’s Tent.” You may want to bring your own folding chair.

The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called “Going to HCCO” and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.

“Coffee With Community” is back! Don’t miss this popup “coffee and treat shop” on Saturdays following our weekly “Fitness in the Park” classes. Our friends from Community Grounds will be set up at Moeller Park from 9:45am to 10:45am. The menu will include hot coffee, cold brews, iced chai, donuts, cookies, mini bagels, and snack bars. Stop by after class or during your morning walk with your family and pups!
