As YWCA Columbus strives to create a more equitable society, we believe that it’s important to acknowledge our accomplishments and celebrate our progress. Women of Achievement honors leaders in our community who motivate us with their example of determination, generosity, and courage.

Pride Month is to celebrate and uplift the LGBTQ+ community, but in recent years, it has become filled with businesses and corporate sponsors who claim to stand in support of equality, but do not truly understand what our communities need. Do they, along with allies, know how to show up for LGBTQ+ liberation in a way that is not white-washed rainbow capitalism?

• Should judicial candidates be above the fray of partisan politics?

• Or does requiring a party affiliation on the ballot help voters to make more informed decisions?

• And if we add partisan labels to judicial races, should it be for all judicial races or just some of them?

A bill requiring party affiliation to be listed in some judicial races has passed the Ohio Senate and is under consideration in the House.
