In observance of National Health Care Center Week, the Equitas Health Institute is proud to present “Healthcare at the Intersections: Dismantling Racial, Economic, and LGBTQ+ Health Disparities.” This virtual education series will take place August 11-14, 2020.

“Homelessness and Health Disparities” will feature expertise from Joseph Kiesler, MD, from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

“Closing the Gap on Racism and Health Disparities” will feature expertise from Renee Mahaffey Harris, President and CEO of The Health Gap, a Cincinnati-based non-profit with a mission to eliminate health inequity.

Equality Ohio’s legal clinic provides free legal support to LGBTQ Ohioans, within 300% of the poverty line, who are experiencing legal hardship because of their sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.

Due to community health concerns regarding COVID-19, we are currently suspending our in-person legal clinics. Instead, our attorneys will be hosting virtual Intake Hours throughout the week. If you are in need of legal help, please contact the attorney closest to your area.

Saturday, August 8, 7-9pm, this event will be occurring via Zoom

Since we can’t get together in person, we can gather for a couple of hours on the second Saturday night of each month, 7-9pm, on Zoom.

This month, we will discuss local immigration issues with Lynn Tramonte of the Ohio Immigration Alliance and others. Also covered will be efforts to repeal H.B. 6 and other environmental legislation. We will also talk with Bob Fitrakis, Harvey Wasserman, and other election integrity leaders about what we need to do to protect our vote in the November election.
