Come join us as we celebrate the winter solstice. We will “break the stick” to usher in winter at 5:23pm (the official time of solstice).
The stick, once broken, will be used to make a “Sun’s Eye” here in the store. People can drop by and add their energy to the weaving of the Eye and at 7pm we will do a solstice ritual and concescate the Eye in ritual. As part of the ritual, people can tie on their wishes and blessings for the year to come.

Join us for an engaging and fun introduction to Compassionate-Nonviolent Communication (NVC), the Language of the Heart, led by Susanna Warren.
People of all experience levels, ranging from beginners to experienced practitioners, are welcome to this gathering. We will have a short explanation, a demonstration, and then we will give everyone a chance to practice giving and/or receiving empathy.

The Dances of Universal Peace are simple, meditative, and joyous circle dances that celebrate the variety of spiritual paths on Earth. If you like folk dancing, you’ll be right at home here. No previous experience is needed — just an open and willing attitude. Participation, not presentation, is the focus.
This annual New Year's Eve event, sponsored by the Shalem Center, will be preceded by an Aramaic Lord's Prayer Zikr [beginning at 5pm] and a potluck meal [beginning at 6:15pm].
