100% of the proceeds will benefit The Open Shelter, an advocacy center and day services shelter that assists the most vulnerable in our community: the homeless and marginally housed.

(Building Responsibility, Equality and Dignity) brings a diverse group of individuals together from more than 50 congregations to seek solutions to community problems and challenge our political leaders to take action to support the disadvantaged youth of the Columbus area. Join us for an engaging and fun introduction to Compassionate-Nonviolent Communication (NVC), the Language of the Heart, led by Susanna Warren.
People of all experience levels, ranging from beginners to experienced practitioners, are welcome to this gathering. We will have a short explanation, a demonstration, and then we will give everyone a chance to practice giving and/or receiving empathy.

The African-American Cultural Festival, produced by the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department with support from the Department of Neighborhoods, celebrates freedom and equal rights through opportunities to experience the rich history of the African-American culture.
This event will showcase local talent while honoring history and community through live music, spoken word and dance performances in Columbus’ historic King-Lincoln District.
