Summer Jam West is a grassroots, free, arts and music festival held annually in Westgate Park. Our mission is to bring joy, music, and art to the Hilltop, bringing family, friends, and neighbors together. You’ll find live bands all day, local food trucks, local art for sale, local craft artisans, and plenty of free activities to keep the kids busy.

Wednesday, July 5, 11:30am-12:30pm, Columbus Commons [near Jeni’s Ice cream], 160 S. High St.

The Commuter Challenge had been a competition, during June 2017, in which individuals could win prizes by replacing Single Occupancy Vehicle trips with alternative modes of transportation. Eligible commute modes had included: ridesharing (both carpool and vanpool), transit, biking (including CoGo bikeshare), walking, or car2go.

The Avant-Garde Art and Craft Show line is an Indie-inspired handmade artisan and crafter show that travels all over the Midwest region. Each year, the show line hosts 17 events in the Cleveland-Akron-Canton area, Columbus, Pittsburgh, and Detroit. Keeping with the local theme, each show supports a unique localized charity to help keep money in the communities in which they are held.

Admission is $3.00; children under 12 are free!

Tuesday, July 4, 1pm, beginning at Goodale Park [Park St. side], 120 W. Goodale St.

Celebrate Liberty and Lunacy and the freedom of speech, through humor with off-the-wall range of mischiefs, grounded super-heroes, political debacles, homegrown satirists, and the other bohemian frolickers winding through the Short North. Political Satire at Its Worst!

See you on July 4. The Parade will start immediately after everyone stands and belts out the National Anthem at 1pm. Set your clock’s reminders now.

The Hilltop Bean Dinner is an 80-year-old tradition that is held every June in Columbus’ Westgate Park. Despite the name, we don’t sit around a table eating beans! The event is a family-friendly festival that remembers the history that made the Columbus west side.
