Simply Living has embarked on a joint venture with local solar installers and educator Catherine Hope-Cunnygham, founder of Green Gahanna, to launch the brand new Central Ohio Local Solar Solutions project. Our mission in this and future solar fairs is to give residents detailed information about what’s involved in “going solar,” including home energy audits and the chance to meet with local solar companies.

While serving as Director of Athletics for The Ohio State University, Gene Smith has been an incredible advocate for LGBTQ students, including producing two videos for the “You Can Play” project [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_11bWV-XugE&feature=youtu.be ], an initiative dedicated to ensuring equality, respect, and safety for all athletes regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Cincinnati and Columbus will be hosting the 14th annual Stroll for Epilepsy on January 28, 2017. This family-friendly event will take place at the Polaris Fashion Place.

Walkers will stroll through both levels of the mall, stopping along the way at designated stations to answer questions in our “treasure hunt” quiz and to become eligible to win prizes.

Suzanne Roberts and Jim White have been meeting and discussing racism for over five years. As a white woman and a black man discussing race relations in our communities and America, they have educated audiences with a historical and personal perspective on the complexity of these issues. The aim of this monthly reading group is to prevent intimate partner violence (IPV) by providing holistic political education. We seek to create community-based interventions to IPV that do not rely on the police or governmental institutions.

We are currently reading “Creative Interventions Toolkit: An Invitation and Practical Guide for Everyone to Stop Violence.”
