We will be holding a series of discussions on African appreciation. This series will be centered on the economic forces that shaped Africa and its people during the time of enslavement and Colonialism. We will also discuss the emergence of Pan-Africanism and the mass struggle toward African Independence.
This study started on February 4 and will be held every Thursday until [at least] March 26.

Are we really the best potluck in town? You decide! If you have dietary restrictions, rest assured that ingredients will be listed, and if you are eating gluten free or vegan, no problem! Prepare to share the foods you love, and bring your own tableware — but we’ll have some if you forget.
As we enter our 23rd year, we are delighted to introduce our new director, Sarah Edwards, and many new board members. Yes, we will review our accomplishments in 2014 but Sarah will also be looking forward and outlining the course we are charting for 2015 and beyond.
New to Simply Living? Just curious to learn more about us? Need a refresher to keep up with new initiatives? We’ll go over our ongoing programs (Socials, Films, Earth Institute courses) and talk about newer initiatives like the Central Ohio Transition Hub, our Local Economy Coalition, and our emerging “Simply Living University” we’re calling “Sustainable U.” Light refreshments will be served. Free and open to all.

A Time Bank is a community of people who support each other. When you spend an hour to do something for an individual or group, you earn a “time credit.” Then, you can use that “time credit” to buy an hour of a neighbor’s time or engage in a group activity offered by a neighbor. It’s that simple. Yet it also has profound effects. You get to know your neighbors and friends and build an old-fashioned extended family of people who take care of each other. A Time Bank changes a whole community. Bring a dish to share and learn about the Care and Share Time Bank.
