Joy to the Polls Brings Bravo Stars to Columbus on Oct 31 + Nov 1
Joy To The Polls (JTTP) is the nonpartisan Get Out the Vote initiative that energizes communities and mobilizes voters through the power of fandom, music, and culture. This fall, JTTP is celebrating the joy of early voting with activations in four cities across the United States, bringing together athletes, Bravolebs, creators, and artists to motivate voters through pop-up experiences at and around polling places. The initiative aims to make voting a positive and collective experience while equipping individuals with the tools and information they need to participate confidently.
Events will take place in Atlanta, GA on October 17, Allentown, PA on October 24, Cleveland, OH on October 31, and Columbus, OH on October 31 and November 1. SCHEDULE AND LOCATIONS TO BE ANNOUNCED.
Through a collaboration with popular political meme account Real Housewives of Politics, JTTP will bring Bravo talent to early voting activations in Atlanta and Columbus, with Bradley Carter (Southern Hospitality), Mia Alario (Southern Charm) and Molly O’Connell (Southern Charm), joining the Atlanta activation and Real Housewives of New York royalty Dorinda Medley participating in Columbus.
In Allentown, JTTP will bring DJ Diamond Kuts, athletes, media personalities, women’s sports fans, and members of the local community together near the Lehigh County Board of Elections for an Early Voter Tailgate. In Cleveland, JTTP will host an early voting celebration with Sydney Colson & Theresa Plaisance, WNBA athletes and podcast co-hosts, near the downtown polling location, bringing together athletes, fans, and community members.
Reflecting on JTTP’s approach to civic engagement, Joy To The Polls co-founder Nelini Stamp says, “Right now, the media is filled with one disaster story after another about voting. This year, we’re bringing joy back to the polls and reminding people that civic engagement can be something we actually look forward to and want to be part of.”
Founded in 2020, JTTP launched with a mission to bring joy, music, and energy to the voting experience, bringing roving concerts and live performances to polling places around the country. That year, President Barack Obama, Selena Gomez, and many others curated playlists designed to energize voters, encourage them to stay in line, and make the voting experience more joyful. In the time since, JTTP has thrown pop-up concerts with performances by and GOTV playlists curated by the likes of Common, Big Freedia, Lin Manuel Miranda, Black Thought, A-Trak, Remi Wolf, and others.
