Protest/Rally
Saturday, August 22, [12noon-3pm and/or 3-6pm], Ohio Statehouse
The National Day of Freedom and Justice Rally has been scheduled for Saturday, August 22, at 12noon, at the Ohio statehouse.
There will be unified ringing of bells at 1pm in every state to signify that We The People are standing in solidarity for Freedom and Constitutional Rights of the entire incarcerated population in the United States.
Remember those who are in prison as though you are in prison with them. [Hebrews 13:3]
Friday, August 21, 5:30pm, Goodale Park, 120 W. Goodale St.
“Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year; it is the struggle of lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.” — John Lewis
Grab a mask and join us at Goodale Park for a peaceful rally to support Black Lives Matter, Black liberation, justice, and the valuing of black lives. We will rally in the park with passionate speakers and march to allow our voices to be heard.
Friday, August 14, 12noon-2pm, Ohio Statehouse
We are in a crisis that can’t be ignored any longer. Our children are suffering from PTSD at epidemic levels.
Sunday, August 2, 1-3pm, Ohio Statehouse
Join COOR [Central Ohio Organized Resistance], Our Revolution Central Ohio, and Columbus Socialist Alternative at the Ohio Statehouse to call for the resignation of Larry Householder, the repeal of H.B. 6, getting big money and corruption out of politics, and using our tax dollars towards initiatives that benefit our communities!
Saturday, August 1, 11am-5pm, Goodale Park [followed by a march to the Ohio Statehouse]
The protests may have calmed down, but the movement isn’t over. It has been almost 150 days since Breonna Taylor’s death, and she and countless others have still not received justice. It is time to move from individual protests to collective action.
Friday, July 31, 6:30-9pm, Ohio Statehouse
We will meet at the Ohio Statehouse at 6:30pm and will go over the game plan. At 7pm, we will begin the march to the Fraternal Order of Police [FOP] building at 222 E. Town St.
This march is important to show that our dissatisfaction is not just with individual “bad apples” but is also with the power of the FOP.
We want to see the police defunded and eventually abolished and we must start with the FOP.
Friday, July 31, 4-6pm, location [somewhere in central Columbus] to be announced
