At the core of the latest attempted “renaissance” of nuclear power is the Big Lie that atomic reactors are an answer to global warming. In fact, they are significant sources of heat.There are more than 400 nuclear power plants in the world today which fission atoms at 300 degrees Centigrade which is 572 degrees Fahrenheit. More are under construction or proposed. As the International Atomic Energy Agency states, “water-cooled reactors offer heat up to 300 degrees Celsius.

Aisha and Pierre; The story of kindness that was not lost

As an infant in Côte d'Ivoire (Currently known as Ivory Coast), Pierre Dupont knew nothing of the world except the arms of one woman who embraced him with tenderness and warmth: his nanny Aisha. She was more than just a maid. She was like a second mother, feeding him, rocking him, and holding him whenever he cried, showering him with unforgettable love.

Whatever the outcomes of Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the White House on Monday and the latest scenario for a ceasefire in Gaza, a bilateral policy of genocide has united the Israeli and U.S. governments in a pact of literally breath-taking cruelty. That pact and its horrific consequences for Palestinian people either continue to shock Americans or gradually normalize indifference toward ongoing atrocities on a massive scale.

Run for Your Life! The Muslims Are Coming!

The cry echoes up and down New York City’s crowded streets. Out of nowhere has emerged a malevolent Muslim candidate for mayor named Zohran Mamdani. He’s 33 years old and born in Uganda to Indian parents. Uganda was also home of the late Idi Amin. To many horrified New Yorkers, it looks as if he may win! Jewish old timers on the Upper West Side and Wall Street are having apoplexy, muttering about the Holocaust. President Trump, a fellow New Yorker, calls Mamdani a ‘communist lunatic.’ Mamdani’s followers have similar unkind thoughts about Trump – who is a long-time foe of most Muslims – unless of course they have oil wells. Mamdani has two huge strikes against him. First, he’s a Muslim running in the world’s largest Jewish city that venerates Israel. Second, he says he’s a ‘democratic socialist’ and, gasp, pro-Palestinian. Some big NYC firms (and from Silicon Valley) are now trying to ban the word ‘Palestine’ from their internal email. Just close your eyes and it will all go away.Mamdani, who came to the US in only 2018, calls for free buses, state-run supermarkets, price controls, and other market handcuffs. Where have I heard of these before?

Let My Robots Vote!

What if the AI bots figure that out? I can imagine R2D2 and Amazon warehouse robo-pickers trundling across the Pettus Bridge in Selma, chanting, “No vote, no work!”  

If the robots go on strike, we can survive the loss of same-day delivery of pantyhose and air-fryers – or maybe not. But after two weeks, humans will begin to starve. Worse, millions will go crazy with the lack of entertainment options and unfilled orders of anti-depressants.

Now the truth is, I would vote for a robot over JD Vance. And let’s face it, humans haven’t done such a good job of picking our presidents.  

And we also have to consider the possibility that they are already taking over electoral politics. Is there any indication at all that Gavin Newsom is a human being? Ask Siri and she barely stifles a giggle.

Democracy, after all, granting the vote to every dickwad, MAGA-naut, crypto-Nazi and cryptocurrency grifter, is a terrible method for choosing our leaders.

Maybe it’s time to turn over these choices to G.O.D., that is the GenerativeAI Overseer of Democracy.
