Recently a good friend told me that he is “thankful to be born in USA”. Once upon a time, so was I. Now I consider myself to be a fierce critic of the American Empire. How did I turn against America?
There were several turning points. The first was my study of political assassinations, which began in 1991 thanks to Oliver Stone’s film JFK. At the time, I was labeled a “conspiracy theorist,” but over the past 35 years, the world has increasingly come to understand that the National Security State killed President John F. Kennedy. This “conspiracy theorist” became a “conspiracy realist.” As I explain my personal transformation here, I also outline the history of what I see as the crimes of the American Empire.
Presidents Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Bush (1963–1991): “Belief in America” period
The reasons I believe the National Security State killed President John F. Kennedy include his refusal to rescue the CIA’s failed Bay of Pigs invasion, his negotiation to resolve the Cuban Missile Crisis, and he refused to fight the Vietnam War. He was in direct conflict with his military and the CIA. Additionally, Kennedy was not going to allow Israel to have a nuclear weapon, which may have been the most important reason behind his assassination. In June 1963, he delivered his famous peace speech at American University. His enemies included CIA veterans Allen Dulles, James Angleton, William Harvey, E. Howard Hunt and Pentagon Generals Curtis LeMay and Lyman Lemnitzer.,as well as many wealthy oil people such as H. L.Hunt. This is my condensed summary of the extensive historical records pointing to a political assassinations at the hand of the National Security State.
The assassinations of Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Malcolm X were, in my view, also orchestrated by the National Security State, supported by what I consider to be similarly overwhelming evidence.
From the time of Kennedy’s assassination in 1963 until my first awakening in 1991, several other events reinforced my belief that the United States was pursuing an imperial agenda. The Vietnam War, initiated by President Johnson and expanded by President Nixon, resulted in the deaths of approximately 2 million Vietnamese.
President Carter’s defeat following the Iranian hostage crisis led to Ronald Reagan’s presidency. According to what is known as the “October Surprise” George H. W. Bush, acting on behalf of Reagan’s campaign, made a deal with Iran to delay the release of hostages until after the election, offering improved terms for military hardware. This claim has been reported by Robert Parry (Consortium News) and others.
John Lennon was killed by a programmed assassin because of his antiwar activism, as described in Whelan’s book Mind Games”. The Charles Manson murders contributed to the end of the 1960s hippie movement. The CIA’s mind control program, MK-Ultra, was eventually revealed.
Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist Gary Webb exposed the CIA’s alleged involvement in cocaine trafficking into American cities to support the Nicaraguan Contras. His book Dark Alliance led to severe professional and personal consequences, including the loss of his career and marriage, and ultimately his death.
The Franklin scandal was a child pedophile ring investigated by Nick Bryant and others. The story broke in 1988. Nebraska chief investigator Gary Caradori and his 6-year old son were killed by plane crash which contributed to a successful cover-up.
Key Events:
- Watergate and the Iran-Contra scandal—though separated by a decade, the CIA was involved in both.
- Civil Rights leaders Medgar Evers, Fred Hampton and others were killed.
- George H. W. Bush led the first Gulf War but chose not to remove Saddam Hussein; approximately 50,000 Iraqis died.
- The U.S. invasion of Panama in 1989 removed Manuel Noriega.
- The Jonestown Massacre during which Congressman Leo Ryan was assassinated.
- John Hinckley Jr. was blamed for the assassination attempt on Reagan.
- The BCCI scandal erupted, leading to the bank’s closure in 1991.
1991-2001 (President Clinton): Belief in America shattered.
During this decade, I studied political assassinations in great detail which lead to the conclusions described above and my changed view of America.
The election of President Clinton in 1992 brought with it the idea of a “peace dividend.” However, the Military-Industrial Complex needed a new enemy, and “terrorists” became the justification for continued expansion of empire. At the time, there was little public enthusiasm for war, and as a result, President Clinton was able to balance the federal budget.
During his presidency, neoconservative influences led to the destruction of Yugoslavia which was the only successful socialist country in Europe. NATO attacked without provocation, resulting in the breakup of the country and thus eliminating socialism in the Europe. Of course, the Empire built a major new Ia military base.
In 1999, John F Kennedy Jr. was killed in a plane crash before he could make his mark on American history. This event was treated by the American press as a tragic accident, though I view it as an assassination.
Other key events:
- The WACO massacre/siege and the killings of Samuel and Vicki Weaver at Ruby Ridge contributed to the rise of the Patriot movement, composed of individuals opposed to what they saw as government overreach.
- The Oklahoma City bombing, followed by a cover-up of key facts.
- The death of Princess Diana in 1997 under suspicious circumstances.
- Ross Perot’s presidential campaign, including the threats that led him to briefly withdraw from the race.
- The death of Vince Foster, officially ruled a suicide, which raised many questions.
- The plane crash that killed Commerce Secretary Ron Brown’s and 33 others.
- Senator Mel Carnahan‘s death in a plane crash in October 2000.
George W Bush (2001-2008): Disillusion with America
The first event was the stolen election of 2000, when G.W. Bush was given power instead of Al Gore. Gore received the majority of votes nationwide and in the contested state of Florida but the Supreme Court appointed Bush. Dick Cheney practically appointed himself as Vice President.
Ten months later, the attacks of 9/11 occurred, and were blamed on Osama Bin Laden. As if America was not sufficiently traumatized, the Anthrax attacks followed. The Congress was presented with the Patriot Act which was written long before 9/11. Senior Senator Paul Wellstone opposed the legislation, and so was assassinated by plane crash. The Empire attacked Iraq although they had nothing to do with 9/11, nor did they have weapons of mass destruction as we were told.
I now believe 9/11 was an orchestrated event by Vice President Cheney in order that the Empire could establish military bases throughout the middle east. Whether orchestrated by the National Security State or not, the event was followed by wars which continue to this day. The plans were essentially laid out in The Project for a New American Century which was written years earlier, during Clinton’s Presidency.
Evidence that 9/11 was an inside job is a multiyear study. Most readers know that Conspiracy Realists understand that control demolition was used to demolish the WTC buildings, which is particularly evident in WTC 7. Neither the evidence or science support the official narrative on 9/11. The evidence against the official story is too lengthy for this article.
Predictably, America went to war, first in Afghanistan, then Iraq. In support of Israel, the United States planned to destroy 7 countries in 5 years (Iraq, then Syria and Lebanon, then Libya, then Somalia and Sudan, and back to Iran), as reported by General Wesley Clark. Five major military bases were built throughout the region in the years following the attack.
Torture: The fact America was torturing prisoners in Guantanamo and several black sites was revealed by Seymour Hersh and John Kiriakou. Guantanamo Bay naval base was used to imprison 780 men and boys without legal recourse. The torture was the first well known major violation of Geneva Conventions by the Empire. The Bush administration justified the torture program. America could no longer claim to care about Human Rights or International Law. Senator Diane Feinstein investigated, but the final report was only partially released, and suppressed. Her office was survieled by CIA director John Brennan during her investigation.
In 2004, the Presidential election was stolen from John Kerry by Bush and his people, specifically in Ohio where I and the Columbus Free Press actively investigated this crime. Articles Here and here; Book and book. Mike Connell was the point person for the theft. He died in a small plane crash on Christmas Eve in 2008.
After 9/11/2001 and the 2004 election, I became unwilling to sing the national anthem at sporting events or to participate in any patriotic rituals such as July 4. My belief in America was broken.
2008-2016 (President Obama) Hope soon shattered.
President Obama offered hope and a polished presentation. But he allowed the war crimes (torture) of Bush go unpunished, saying we must look forward, not backwards. He allowed the financial crimes of Wall Street, which resulted in an economic collapse, to go unpunished. Obama then allowed the military to “surge” in Afghanistan in a failed effort to “win” that war. He authorized Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to destroy Libya on thin pretext, which was the second war (after Yugoslavia) initiated without America being threatened with attack. Syria was also under covert attack during this time.

- The Jeffrey Epstein case gained widespread attention following his 2008 conviction and 18-month sentence for sex-related crimes.
- President Barack Obama played a key role in supporting Hillary Clinton’s candidacy over Bernie Sanders.
- Journalist Michael Hastings died in a car crash under circumstances considered suspicious, following his reporting on General David Petraeus.
- A false flag chemical weapons attack in Syria was cited as justification for efforts to remove President Bashar al-Assad.
- The Boston Marathon bombing in 2014, along with an investigation that left important questions unanswered.
- The Obama administration’s use of drone strikes targeting suspected terrorists.
- Deborah Jeane Palfrey, known as the “D.C. Madam,” died in 2008 in a case officially ruled a suicide, though “suicided” is more likely.
2016-2020 (Trump-Epstein years). America beyond remediation.
This period began with the Ruling Elite preventing a fair primary election which would have resulted in a Bernie Sanders presidency. Hillary was the anointed candidate, but she lost to Trump due to deep state shenanigans via James Comey’s FBI. The voting public was desperately in need of a change, which was represented by Trump’s unorthodox style of promises, bombast and lies, and Clinton was already deeply unpopular.

- During Trump’s first term, Americans became accustomed to lies emanated from the office of the President often by tweet.
- Government officials denied or downplayed the possibility that COVID-19 originated from a laboratory in Wuhan.
- We witnessed a pathetic response to the Covid pandemic, and so much more.
- We also witnessed Trump’s treasonous attempt to overturn his election loss on January 7th.
- Seth Rich was murdered.
- Iran General Qasem Soleimani was murdered by the Empire.
- Trump withdrew from the nuclear agreement with Iran negotiated by Obama (JCPOA)
- He withdrew from the Paris Climate Accord.
- The killings of George Floyd, Michael Brown, and others by police sparked widespread protests and national debate over policing.
President Biden trades old war for new war. (2020 to 2024) and my move to Thailand.
Biden was the only alternative we were given to Trump #1. He immediately ended 19 years in Afghanistan in order to provoke a proxy war against Russia, over NATO membership no less. This is thoroughly described in Scott Horton’s book “Provoked”.
Biden ignored the threat from within which was Traitor Trump. Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland did not appoint a special counsel to investigate for two full years (Nov 2022). Too late.
It was during this time that I became a man without a country, and was fortunate to be able to retire to Thailand during the Biden Presidency.
Genocide
After moving to Thailand, Israel activated it’s own false flag on October 7 in order to justify ethnic cleansing of Gaza, in it’s quest for hegemony over the entire Middle East. Israel’s apartheid state and it’s crimes of torture and murder of Palestinians was well known, having begun in 1947. The genocide in Gaza was facilitated by America’s weapons, making the American Empire complicit in genocide.
Other key events:
- Donald Trump repeatedly claimed, without evidence, that the 2020 election was stolen.
- The Epstein blackmail operation became more widely known, though there was a failure to fully release related files or pursue certain allegations involving high-profile individuals.
- The Nord Stream Pipeline was destroyed by sabotage, clearly taken out by the American Empire.
The reign of the Orange King and the End of Empire (?): 2024 to present
The second Trump administration is completely lawless since Trump himself has a long record of breaking the law and getting away with it. This despite his pathetic record during his first term which ended with the treason of January 7th.
For his second term, he appointed incompetent boot licking fools with little or no expertise. As a result, the failing war against Iran may signal the End of Empire, but it could also result in the first use of nuclear weapons since 1945. An economic collapse is also possible. The lies told by this narcissistic, racist pedophile are too numerous to comprehend, and the damage to the United States Constitution will never be undone. After the deceptive and cowardly decapitation attacks of the leadership during active negotiations, the Empire opened the violence against Iraq by killing 150 little girls.

This administration will forever be known for the Epstein cover-up. The FBI was needed to redact Trump’s name from documents and withhold the documents implicating Trump and Israel in Epstein’s espionage operation. Many MAGA celebrity podcasters turned against Trump over Epstein.
Trump also initiated illegal wars against Venezuela and Cuba, and failed to bring the war in Ukraine to an end. Trump’s graft knows no bounds. All while covering himself in gold and genuflecting to himself. Finally, as I write, Trump thinks he can open the Straight of Hormuz by force while Iran prepares to defend against invasion.

ICE=gestapo raids; Murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. Innocent people imprisoned, deported, or even killed by ICE. Children are imprisoned under horrific conditions.
Charlie Kirk assassinated by Israel, followed by most incompetent coverup in our history.
Venezuelan President Maduro captured and imprisoned in America.
Continuing support of Israeli genocide.
And so many more.
I recently wrote “America: Perpetual War Machine“; saying that "I stand with Iran" in it’s war against the American Empire. After reviewing all of these events it seems perfectly rational to NOT want the American Empire to rule the world. The current ruler is a psychopath of the highest order, but there was little to be thankful for over the previous 60 years. People who truly want a peaceful word must oppose this violence. I am horrified at the behavior of the American Empire.
