The Davis-Besse nuclear plant on Lake Erie is up for relicensing by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. This plant is one of the worst nuclear plants in the United States in terms of safety violations and near nuclear disasters. Tell the NRC that you support clean and green energy and not Davis-Besse! Urge the Department of Justice and Department of Agriculture to break up the agribusiness giants.
America's supermarket bounty is deceiving. Of those hundreds of brands on grocery store shelves, the vast majority are owned by a handful of industrial food companies like Kraft, Conagra and General Mills.
This concentration of power in the hands of a few large corporations is repeated in all sectors of the food system - from Monsanto's stranglehold on seeds, to Dean Foods and Dairy Farmers of America's control over our milk, to Smithfield, JBS and Cargill's near total dominance of meat processing. But there was nothing inevitable about this kind of corporate control of our food. Decades of deregulation and governmental inattention to industrial consolidation brought us our broken food system, one that features non-stop food safety recalls, an obesity epidemic and the hollowing out of rural America as family farmers are forced to sell out to corporate interests.
It's time to stop letting Big Food control what we eat. Urge the Obama administration to fix our broken food system.

What would you give to have Karl Rove testify under oath about the flood of millionaire cash he used to influence elections in the last election cycle? What would you give to have Rove forced to testify about his activities
during the stolen election of 2004?

Day: to be announced - we expect it may be soon
Where: Your local Federal Building or government office
The Committee to Stop FBI Repression urges everyone who is working for peace and justice to organize protests the workday after anti-war activists get the word to appear in front of the Grand Jury. The subpoenas are likely to be re-activated soon.
Activists are already holding organizing meetings this week--gathering to make signs, line up speakers, contact the press, and prepare to mobilize for the day after anti-war and international solidarity activists are called to appear in front of a Chicago-based Grand Jury. If the news of the call to appear is received on Friday, the protests will take place on Monday at Federal Buildings or government offices.

SOA graduates continue to get cited for serious abuses throughout the Americas and the Pentagon is fighting hard to keep the school open. Despite the requirement in National Defense Authorization Act for 2010 to release the names and enrollment information of recent students and instructors at the facility, the Pentagon used a loophole and continues to classify the information based on "national security reasons" in an effort to prevent the connections between their training and human rights abuses to become public.

As we mark the 9th year of this bloody war in Afghanistan, please join us in calling on Secretary Clinton to stop giving our taxdollars to the mercenary firm Blackwater. We'll never end the war in Afghanistan as long as companies like Blackwater can make a killing out of killing. Tell Hillary Clinton: Stop Doing Business with Blackwater!
Hillary Clinton, when she was on the campaign trail in 2008, pledged to cut these companies loose after Blackwater guards killed 17 civilians in Baghdad's Nisour Square. Disgusted with the violence and abuses committed by Blackwater and others, Afghan President Karzai recently banned these firms from working in Afghanistan.
So why has the US State Department continued to pour billions into contracts with private security firms? Why did a Blackwater front group called International Development Solutions just win a piece of a State Department contract worth $10 billion?

A group of policy experts who want to end the war in Afghanistan - the Afghanistan Study Group - have unveiled a report calling for the U.S. to scale back its military operations in Afghanistan, and to promote power-sharing and political reconciliation in Afghanistan and diplomacy in the region to end the war.
