The greater Columbus community is invited for a movie screening of the new film, “Where Olive Trees Weep,” followed by a panel discussion with the executive producer of the film, Ashira Darwish.

“Where Olive Trees Weep” is a newly released documentary that details the struggles and the resilience of Palestinians under Israeli occupation. The film follows Palestinian journalist and therapist Ashira Darwish, grassroots activist Ahed Tamimi, and Israeli journalist Amira Hass.

The 38th Annual Music on the Lawn summer concert series kicks off in July with a new outdoor pavilion and site improvements to celebrate the library’s 100th anniversary! A significant portion of the project is being funded with a donation from the Grandview Heights Public Library Foundation.

Concerts take place on Tuesdays, 7-8pm, July and August (instead of June-July, due to construction).

This is a pivotal movement where we must see each other and work together. We can do that by appreciating and acknowledging each other’s work in the movement. Social Movement Ecology [SME] helps us do that.

SME lays a framework for organizations with different theories of change to recognize each other’s strengths and weaknesses and work together to produce large-scale social change.

Join us as we kick off our six-week “Summer School: Ohio Civics 101” series. To start things off, we will cover the basics of Ohio Government, including the three branches of Ohio government, roles and responsibilities, key players in Ohio, as well as key organizations and what you can do to get involved.

The Rockin’ the Rainbow Concert, July 27, 7pm, at North Congregational United Church of Christ, 2040 W. Henderson Road, will benefit Kaleidoscope Youth Center and North Congregational UCC.

The doors will open [for a silent auction] at 6:30pm. The concert, featuring Donna Mogavero, Made of the Mist, and Joyful Noises Celebrate Self, will begin at 7pm.
