This fall, Green Columbus will be hosting its seventh annual tree giveaway in an effort to increase the urban forest of Columbus. We will be hosting three free tree giveaways to distribute hundreds of three-gallon native trees to Columbus residents. Residents may choose from a variety of species — red oak, tulip poplar, red maple, black cherry, and sycamore — all of which are native to Ohio and support native plants and animals. Trees are grown in our tree nursery in Linden, Ohio.

Friday, September 26, 6pm, Gateway Film Center, 1550 N. High St.

“Made By Us” is a unique event that pairs Columbus celebrities with talented local artists and creatives to collaborate on creating a one-of-a-kind piece of art. As our creative and celebrity duos make their way through the creative process, we’ll be sharing their journey allowing you to follow along. And trust us, these are some partnerships you won’t want to miss!

Join us for a dynamic and unapologetic deep dive into the roots and impact of African enslavement — told through the lens of African people themselves. This experience will trace the development of slavery in the Western Hemisphere, with a focus on the United States, while centering Africa’s resistance and the enduring struggle for freedom, self-determination, and the dismantling of colonial slave economies.
