Thursday, July 11, 7-9pm, this event will be occurring via Zoom

Since we can’t get together in person, we can gather for a couple of hours on the second Saturday night of each month, 7-9pm, on Zoom.

It is a chaotic and inspiring time, with many positive accomplishments happening in our city and in the world, but there is still a lot of work to do for social justice and equality.

dkéama alexis will give an outline of how the police grew into an institution in the united states, situating its legacy within our country’s violent history of chattel slavery, genocide, and capitalistic greed. they will then define what police and prison abolition is, why it’s necessary for creating a free world for the most oppressed, and how we can continue working towards it here in central ohio with BQIC’s #12ToAbolish12 demands.

A Story Circle is a small group of individuals sitting (virtually) in a circle, sharing stories from their own experience and focusing on a common theme. We are inviting folks to engage with key themes, resources, and ideas generated by the Poor People’s Campaign [PPC].
