It’s back—the federal government’s push to expand offshore oil drilling.
As the headline last month in the Long Island newspaper Newsday reported: “Plan for New Oil Drilling Off Fla. and Calif. Coasts.” The following day, November 22, Newsday ran a nationally-syndicated cartoon by Paul Dukinsky depicting President Trump declaring in front of a line of offshore wind turbines: “Wind Turbines Ruin the View!” Then there was Trump in front of a bunch of offshore oil drilling rigs saying: “…But Oil Rigs are Beautiful!”
The New York Times two days later ran a piece with more details headlined: “In One Week, President Makes Moves to Reshape U.S. Environmental Policy.” This involves, it noted,
So Israel, which has killed hundreds of Gazans, many of them children, since the so-called Ceasefire was declared on October 11th, has now stated that it is currently intending to maintain its “yellow line” occupation of more than half of the Gaza Strip. That will likely eventually make most of Gaza de facto part of Israel and the Palestinians who once upon a time lived there are shit out of luck, as the old saying goes. And as for those benighted creatures who actually believe that ceasing fire means one must stop shooting it is perhaps past time to ask the man behind the “Peace Plan” which bears the name “Trump” what is going on. Does peace means you disarm the Palestinians so they cannot defend themselves while giving Israel both freedom to occupy their land and to use it as a shooting gallery for killing kids out looking for something to eat?
Making offensive and distasteful remarks against Christians and Tunisian soccer fans is nasty and unbefitting of a high-ranking Palestinian official.
Jibril Rajoub, chairman of the Palestinian Football Association and a top Fatah official who previously served as commander of the Palestinian Authority's (PA) notorious Preventive Security Force in the West Bank, made the offensive remarks during a recent interview with an Egyptian television station.
Jibril Rajoub, also known by his kunya Abu Rami has previously served 17 years, on and off, in Israeli prison, having been arrested multiple times until he was released in a 1985 prisoner exchange deal. After that, he was the head of the Preventive Security Force in the West Bank until being dismissed in 2002.
He has also spent around 17 years, on and off, in Israeli prison, having been arrested multiple times until he was released in a 1985 prisoner exchange deal. I can't fathom a Palestinian official who insults his Christian brethren and even appease the occupiers who locked you up for 17 years behind bars. This man's shame knows no boundaries.
Introduction
It’s not a sure thing that an already tenuous democracy in the US will survive over
the next few years from the onslaught of Trump’s abuses and misuses of
presidential power. Millions of people will suffer. At the same time, there is
opposition to him from large majorities of Democrats and Independents. And his
support from his base is less strong than in the recent past.
Unfortunately, he still has over three years in the White House or more likely at
Mar-a-Lago.
And he glories in the power. You may have also noticed that he typically doesn’t
acknowledge bad news about him or his administration. For the public, he says
there has never been a better president than he (https://www.livemint.com/news/us-

his mental acuity and stability.

BANGKOK, Thailand -- Thailand's U.S.-supplied F-16 warplanes and Swedish Gripen jets bombed at least three Cambodian casinos during the past week in a gamble Bangkok hopes will obliterate its enemy's alleged ability to fire armed drones from the border zone complexes and stockpile rockets, mortars, and other weapons.
The big white-walled casinos are easy targets in the green forests and brown scrubland because Cambodia has no effective military air force to defend them.
Cambodia has not fired its anti-aircraft weapons during the war which began in July, perhaps predicting a devastating response from militarily-mightier Thailand.
Cambodia's casinos are some of the biggest and strongest-built buildings along the frontier, constructed with millions of dollars from gamblers' and investors' money.
The well-equipped casino complexes could offer Cambodia's military formidable structures, but it was not possible to independently confirm their dual use.
US President Donald Trump's 'Board of Peace' is reportedly set to be announced before the year's end. This news coincides with increasing reports that the US administration is serious about pushing forward the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire.
However, many critical questions remain unanswered. How can a governing council be superimposed on Gaza when Palestinians are unified in their rejection of any new form of Western mandate over their lives?
