From the Rubble Rises 22 Powerful Voices

Last week, I, as an Executive Producer of FROM GROUND ZERO: STORIES FROM GAZA, was quoted across the country as stating the following: “No filmmaker, writer or artist should ever have to tell the story of their own extermination.”

And yet…

As I write this, in a scattered group of cinemas across the country, movie-goers are watching this anthology of stories captured on camera by Palestinian filmmakers in Gaza amidst Netanyahu’s reign of terror over the past year. This collection of 22 short films of his shameless extermination attempt — the unending barrage of bombs and bullets, the forced starvation — is what the people of Gaza are facing every single day.

And during this hour and fifty-two minutes on the screen, you will feel the pulse of the Palestinian people. Their resilience. And you are right there with them.  They are not Hamas. They are not rapists. They are not lying in wait to murder Israelis. They are not a threat to any human or to Democracy as certain propagandists are hoping you’ll be brainwashed into believing.

Goodbye to the Rule of Law

Although the rich have been getting away with crimes since the founding of the Republic, this concept that no one is above the law at least applied to the proletariat, or the common man. The citizenry has mostly accepted this powerful myth.. That myth is hanging by a thread given Trump’s own crimes, but will be completely and 100% indefensible after Trump pardons the traitors that attacked the Capitol on January 6, 2021.  

Long Live the Young King

This exciting week, the man aiming to become king of everything made his first statements. Greenland should be bought by the United States. Canada needs to be sold to the US. The Gulf of Mexico should be renamed "The Gulf of America".Trump has launched a race for imperial rebranding. France seeks the return of what was once called the Louisiana Purchase. "We sold it very cheap in 1803 for only $15 million because we went bankrupt financing the American Revolution against the cunning British." We want to bring it back - with interest. We also want parts of Kebek that were hijacked from the US. Long live France! ".Not to be left behind, Spain and Mexico have united in a joint lawsuit seeking the U.S. return portions of Northern Mexico and California seized in the 1840s.Mexico was forced to give over 55% of its land to the Americans. Former French nationalist leader Jean-Marie Le Pen, whom I interviewed in the 1980s, said to me: "You Americans have stolen California from Mexico." Now they are getting it back through immigration". "Un bon mot" (words with place), as the French say.Spain has claims to California, which it once ruled. Spain also wants the Philippines and Cuba back.

The War Criminal 'Victim': Netanyahu’s Inevitable Fate

Suddenly, Yoav Gallant, Israel's notorious Minister of Defense, disappeared into obscurity. The man who served in his country's military for about 35 years, in politics for nearly 10, and oversaw major wars, including the ongoing genocide in Gaza, quickly retreated from headlines and political significance.

 In his resignation letter, Gallant accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who fired him on November 5, along with his replacement, Israel Katz, of endangering the country's security. However, he kept his criticism largely focused on the issue of military conscription for Israel's ultra-Orthodox community.

A World’s Soul in Tatters

“I left you for God, Daddy.”

Let those words resonate across the planet. The speaker is Yahya Al-Batran, a Palestinian man – a dad – imagining the words his newborn son would have said. The boy, Jumaa, froze to death in the family’s tent. The infant had a twin brother who was also lying still in their bed one morning recently. The parents rushed the boys to a functioning hospital, where Jumaa’s brother, at the time NBC’s story came out last week, was still fighting for his life.

Jumaa was one of half a dozen Palestinian babies (so far) who have frozen to death in their family’s tents since the onset of winter – just one more fragment of hell the Palestinians are enduring as Israel’s US-complicit genocide continues . . . one death at a time.

Drone Warfare Has Exploded the Myth of Reactor Safety

Terrifying reports from the Ukraine-Russia front underscore an inescapable new nuclear reality:  In the age of drone warfare, the myth of atomic reactor safety has been exploded.

 No matter how thick the containment domes, or how vehement the industry denials, a quantum leap in the killing power of weaponized drones has completely blown past official atomic safety assurances.

 The unwelcome new reality has been brought home by two recent features in the New York Times.

 A devastating, Pulitzer-level dispatch from C.J. Chivers in the Times Magazinecovering the Ukrainian killing fields seems to announce a total transformation in trench warfare.
