Attacks on two Saudi Arabian oil facilities on Saturday reportedly reduced the production of Aramco, the state oil company, by one half. It was a devastating demonstration of just how vulnerable the Kingdom’s oil economy actually is. Initial reports suggested that the damage had been caused by explosive drones launched by the Houthi rebels in Yemen, who claimed responsibility, but there has been considerable skepticism regarding whether the drones available to the Houthi could actually have carried out the attack.
Inevitably, the United States and the Saudis are blaming Iran, which has often been accused of being the Houthi’s sponsor. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo quickly claimed there was no evidence that the attacks emanated from Yemen and blamed Tehran, tweeting predictably that “amid all the calls for de-escalation, Iran has now launched an unprecedented attack on the world’s energy supply.”
I have just read a superb book by Mark Isaacs, an Australian who has documented several years of effort by a group of incredibly committed young people in Afghanistan to build peace in that war-torn country the only way it can be built: by learning, living and sharing peace.
The book, titled The Kabul Peace House: How a Group of Young Afghans are Daring to Dream in a Land of War, records in considerable detail the struggle, both internal and external, to generate a peaceful future in Afghanistan. Some might consider this vision naive, others courageous, but few would doubt the simple reality: it is slow, daunting, incredibly difficult, often saddening, frightening, infuriating or painful, sometimes uplifting or hilarious and, just occasionally, utterly rewarding.

When looking at all the facts that have been purposefully edited out of the public conversation by the major media, the military and the government over the past 18 years, it should be obvious that Osama bin Laden didn’t have anything to do with the controlled demolitions that brought down THREE World Trade Center skyscrapers on 9/11/01.
WTC’s 1, 2 & 7 were all massive steel-reinforced concrete structures that were over-engineered to be impossible to be knocked down even by a direct hit by a large jet plane. Each one of the dozens of massive columns that were placed at the core of each skyscraper had been welded into single unbroken pieces from foundation to roof (110 floors high in the case of the Twin Towers), with interlocking steel beams inter-connecting them (refer to images above). It shouldn’t have t be pointed out that these concrete, steel-reinforced buildings were non-flammable.
The irony of this old New Yorker cartoon by Eric Lewis is so precise I haven’t been able to get it out of my head for two years. The speaker is the planet Saturn, clad in doctor’s garb — a stethoscope circling his forehead — giving the bad news to a sick and miserable-looking Earth:
“I’m afraid you have humans.”
Extrapolate that number for a decade: more than a MILLION DEATHS. I have reported, many times, on Starfield’s review, “Is US Health Really the Best in the World,” published in the Journal of the American Medical Association on July 26, 2000.
I interviewed her in 2009, when she told me that her death numbers (106,000 per year) were conservative, and that the federal government was doing NOTHING comprehensive to fix the ongoing disaster.
Imagine that, coming from a doctor who was a revered public health expert at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Since I’ve written more articles about Dr. Starfield’s revelations than any reporter around, I also know the reaction of the mainstream press over the years: SILENCE.
And more silence.
BANGKOK, Thailand -- After destroying much of Tibet's Buddhist
religion and causing the Dalai Lama to flee, the Chinese government is
now teaching Tibetan monks that every "living Buddha" must obey the
law while reincarnating.
"Some 100 Tibetan Buddhist monks attended a training session on
reincarnation for a living Buddha in southwest China's Tibet
Autonomous Region, which includes government regulation on management
of the reincarnation system," Beijing's Global Times recently
reported.
Training sessions began August 23 and lasted one week to 10 days in
Lhasa, capital of Tibet. Lessons included "the history and rituals for
the reincarnation of the living Buddha."
About 100 Tibetan Buddhist monks attended the courses, including monks
from the influential, centuries-old Sera and Drepung monasteries near
Lhasa.
A living Buddha is China's terminology for what Tibetans call a
"tulku". They can include the Dalai Lama, Panchen Lama, and other
senior lamas who have not achieved enlightenment and the nirvana of a
Buddha which ends their rebirths.
Trump with Likud Party Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (Aka, the Likud Party Half of the “US/Israeli Wannabe Authoritarian Tag-team”)
Israel’s influential center-left newspaper, Haaretz, commented recently on the Netanyahu/Trump relationship:
“The historically deep ties that bind the United States and Israel were profoundly damaged Thursday when the government of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu succumbed to pressure from the Trump Administration…’
“The ‘wannabe authoritarian tag-team’ (ie, ‘Trump and Netanyahu’) has committed a reckless, racist, contemptible act driven by stunningly short-sighted political calculations by barring [US House of Representatives members] Omar and Tlaib from visiting Israel. The action will have fateful repercussions…”
It is instructive to recall that in the 1995 campaign for Israeli Prime Minister, a number of violent hate-group protests were organized by Netanyahu’s Likud Party which caused serious divisions in the state of Israel – quite similar to the divisions that have occurred in the US since the campaign for president by Donald Trump.
I just read a fine article that Paul Craig Roberts wrote on 9/11/2019, in which he mentioned a number of the many hundreds of “Things That Most Americans Have Never Heard About 9/11”.
I decided to try to strengthen the article a bit by numbering the documentable points that Roberts made while also eliminating a couple of paragraphs that didn’t closely relate to the title.
Here is what my final edit looks like. I hope this will stimulate others to enlarge on the list; I will try to do the same.
We need to thank Roberts for his journalistic integrity, which is sadly lacking in most of the purveyors of information that are employed (and muzzled) by our corporate-controlled media, their corporate advertisers and the oligarchs that control the United States and the rest of the world as well.
