I currently am a Democrat that is unhappy with the lack of leadership in my party, a party that can not admit it was robbed of the 2004 election, a federal crime of enormous proportions. I also currently am the campaign manager for my friend, Bob Fitrakis, the Green Party candidate for Governor of Ohio. Bob and I have worked on election investigation issues together since November 2004.
Now here is a peek into some of what I have seen this week.
John Kerry came to kick off "Absentee Voting" at the Ohio State University. Most of the current Democratic candidates, many of which are incumbents were there. No one but me and my two friends Victoria and Sherole mentioned the stolen election of 2004. What is wrong with these folks. How can they not say they were robbed! I did give John copies of Bob's books on the election theft, and Sheri's book "Cheated", and the new Free Press with Harvey and the moldy Miami County ballots on the cover. I also gave John copies of some outdated Applications for Absent Voter Ballots forms that are currently available at libraries in Ohio. John acted concerned. I told him to study what I had given him and to call me. Chris Redfern thanked me for coming.
My friends and I addressed the past and current situation, now what happened to the voice of my party?
Next look at the cold and rude welcome Bob and I received from the University of Cincinnati in the below included letters. I now am writing to you about my experience after the fine Governors debate we hosted at Media Bridges with Dr Bob Fitrakis, Dr. Bill Peirce, and Dr. James Lundeen. They had real conversation on Ohio issues. I am so proud of all three men, especially my guy, Bob.
The Ted and Ken debate organizers, armed with the rules of the League of Women Voters would not allow any other candidates to join Ted and Ken. I ask why would we not want to put all our best ideas on the table, and hope the winner uses them. They were invited to our debate. Ted's campaign replied that they would not come, Blackwell's campaign couldn't simply RSVP.
As for The University of Cincinnati, they hosted the private Ted Strickland/Kenneth Blackwell Debate. Only 25 students that were prechosen and screened were allowed in the audience. I guess it was just enough to make it appear that students could attend.
I talked to other students that wanted to attend. These kids were Democrats. They were NOT allowed into the debate to support Ted Strickland. They were given no place to go to see the debate. They stood in the streets instead with duct tape over their mouths and signs that addressed that they were blocked out and not allowed to have a voice. They were not even allowed to walk back through their own campus with their signs when night hit and they were done protesting. They were mostly young women, forced to go to the outer edges of the campus to go home that night. These young students talked to me about their concern that they would not be allowed to vote. These beautiful smart young people just wanted to be included, educated on Ohio issues, and then to know their vote will be counted. I shared my plan with them on how we will get their votes counted... This will unfold nationally soon. Where is the Democratic Party? Missing in Action, or part of the insult they felt on this day. Again I look around and this is not the country I thought I lived in.
The Republican students were given a beautiful room, an enormous wide screen TV, matching Blackwell shirts, chairs, air conditioning (global warming is here, it was over 80 degrees in Ohio), and were well cared for. They were organized, happy, and excited to be included. They happily cheered when Betty Montgomery came on the screen. It is no wonder they are a strong party. They take care of themselves. I don't approve of much the Republican Party does or stands for now, but they took care of the college students I talked to.
There is a lot of work to be done in this nation. Below are the letters I received from the University. These letters were aimed to Bob and myself. Bob Fitrakis is one of the most honorable men I've ever met. What are they so afraid of, Democracy? Remember that this is a public University, paid for with tax money from people like Bob and myself that really just want a better world than the one we are looking at now.

After reviewing the area chosen for the rally this coming Wednesday, October 4 th the Department of Public Safety has decided to confirm a much more visible area. Should you choose to complete the online form and have confirmation for this Wednesday the location for the rally will now be Corry Boulevard near Gettler Stadium. This will allow you the opportunity to greet the guests as they arrive on campus when they park in the Calhoun Garage. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this change.

Please be aware that this type of activity must be scheduled in advance in order to have permission to be on campus or you may be considered trespassing. The location we have allotted for rallies outside the Patricia Corbett Theater is the Siddall turnaround so please go online at the site listed below and submit your request ASAP in order to have permission to setup in this location.
