On September 29th, 2007, the Columbus Chapter of World Can’t Wait (www.columbuswcw.org) called for and led a demonstration in front of the Federal Building in Columbus to support the Troops Out Now Coalition’s action the same day in Washington, D. C. Our demonstration was counter-protested and disrupted by an alleged ‘progressive Democrat’ and the chapter organizer of the Columbus Chapter of NION(Not In Our Name) because 9/11 Truth activists from Columbus were participating.
On December 30, 2007, the Jersey City Peace Movement presented awards of appreciation to activists and organizations involved in community and political organizing of progressive struggles at home and abroad. The JCPM was formed after the U.S. invaded Iraq in March, 2003. Organizations that were honored included-New Jersey Solidarity-Activists for the Liberation of Palestine; Black Waxx Multimedia; Jersey City Youth Skaters; Peace and Justice Coalition-initiated by People’s Organization for Progress in Newark; Our Youth, a LGBT organization; Troops Out Now Coalition; Jersey City Food Not bombs; New Jersey Accion(Action)21, a mainly Latino group; Hobokon Farmboy, an organization that feeds the hungry, AND 9/11 TRUTH CHAPTERS IN JERSEY CITY AND RED BANK!
It’s no wonder that the ‘activist’ community(?) in Columbus is treading water.
