“Why do you think Trump is racist”. This question was asked of me recently, in all seriousness as far as I could tell. Since everyone in America knows he is racist, I am unsure why I am writing this. Here goes.
King Trump's history or racism is well documented, and I do not wish to write a book, so examples of his racism prior to January 20, 2025 can be viewed here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here and here.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: What could be more symbolic of racism than attacking DEI? I think one might guess that the majority of federal employees working on DEI issues are/were minorities. By eliminating every DEI initiative, he was able to take away decent paying Federal jobs from thousands of the minority people that he hates. ChatGPT reports that 60,000 DEI employees have been terminated. This does not include his administration serious financial pressures to force all Colleges and Universities to eliminate DEI programs.
The King currently has no racial minorities in his cabinet, although he does have six women. A famous misogynist, he targets women as well, as his below the belt exploits are well known. I will ignore the sexual assaults but will include the women fired for no apparent reason.
After the inauguration of the King, one of the first to go was Air Force Gen. CQ Brown Jr., chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The given reason of course was his support of DEI initiatives, a convenient excuse for firing any minority. Brown also publicly supported the Black Lives Matter movement. Obviously, Brown is African American.
Trump fired Linda Fagan, the first female Coast Guard commandant, on his second day in office. In a particularly vindictive move, a Trump official told her she had three hours to leave her house on Tuesday.
Lisa Franchetti is the second top female military officer to be fired by the Trump administration. A surface warfare officer, Franchetti has commanded at all levels, heading U.S. 6th Fleet and U.S. Naval Forces Korea. She was the second woman ever to be promoted to four-star admiral, and she did multiple deployments, including as commander of a naval destroyer and two stints as aircraft carrier strike group commander. She is fired by an orange man who cannot drive a car.
Since January 20, 2025, President Donald Trump has dismissed numerous federal officials, including several women and racial minorities. These actions have raised concerns about the administration's approach to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Below is a list of notable individuals who have been removed from their positions (list is courtesy of ChatGPT):

Not mentioned by ChatGPT is Sheria Smith, Civil Rights Attorney at the Department of Education.
Smith is a black woman and president of AFGE Local 252. She was among 1,300 employees laid off in early 2025; alleged targeting of Black and female staff under Secretary Linda McMahon’s anti-DEI policies.
Another female victim is the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Washington, Tessa Gorman, who was a court-appointed top federal prosecutor, “was removed from her post, after being promoted during the Biden administration”.
These dismissals are part of Trump's effort, via DOGE, to ostensibly to remove fraud and waste. Thousands of federal employees have been affected across various departments and agencies. These firings will negatively impact the representation of women and minorities in federal leadership positions, as well as the ability of the government to function efficiently.
Trump's racist behavior is not limited to firing qualified woman and minorities. Trump's racism is on full display when he shut down its Civil-Rights Unit at the Department of Homeland Security. President Trump has issued an executive order targeting the Smithsonian Institution, aiming to remove what he describes as "improper ideology" and promote a narrative of American greatness. This move has sparked significant debate about the implications for how history is presented in the nation's museums. (AI). He has attempted to remove memory of Jackie Robinson's military service. The Pentagon's DEI purge erases significant aspects of the history of Colin Powell, the Tuskegee Airmen, and the Navajo Code Talkers. At the National Park Service, Trump's team of racists is whitewashing the history of Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad, as reported by Rolling Stone magazine.
Why would someone describe King Trump as a racist? Why are elephants larger than mice? A common English phrase comes to mind:
It is what it is.
