Many of us know the pain of paying steep tolls, especially when a turnpike is taken over by a private company.

Now imagine you live in one of our hemisphere’s most impoverished countries. Do that and you’ll get a glimpse into how unfair trade deals help make life unlivable in many countries — and force countless people to seek a living in countries like the United States.

When a private company suddenly put up toll booths in the middle of a taxpayer-funded highway, local residents in El Progreso, Honduras were furious.

They knew the new fees would also hike the price of food, bus fares, and their daily commutes — and that making it in their country, where roughly half of the population lives below the poverty line, was going to become unbearable.

America’s Supreme death penalty hypocrisy must end before more innocents are murdered. Six “pro-life” US High Court “Justices” have shrugged at the death of Marcellus Williams, a horrific sentence cavalierly imposed September 24 in Missouri.

Williams forever proclaimed his innocence. The family of the alleged victim joined his in begging that he not be executed. Numerous judicial players on the many sides of this lethal travesty asked that he be spared. Procedural, evidentiary and common sense holes in the case left more than ample room to further explore the obvious defects in the prosecution and sentencing.

But this MAGA Court, like so many Trumpist lovers of the death penalty, believes itself to be Divinely ordained beyond all decency and law. The level of dishonesty is cosmic. By 6-3 the Court has robbed millions of women of rightful control over their own bodies. Proclaiming the “sanctity of life,” these murderous “justices" are more than willing to let women die for lack of medical care. Their melodramatic concern for “the unborn” does not extend to women unable protect their bodies in cases of rape, incest or accidental pregnancies.

The official Israeli army version of why it has targeted civilian areas during the intense and deadly bombardment of September 20 in south Lebanon is that the Lebanese are hiding long-range missile launchers in their own homes.

 This official explanation by the Israeli military was meant to justify the killing of 492 people and the wounding of 1,645 in a single day of Israeli strikes.

Two historical events regarding the Israeli occupation of Palestine have taken place on July 19 and September 18.

 The first was a most comprehensive ‘advisory opinion’ by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which reiterated that the Israeli occupation of Palestine is illegal and must come to an immediate end.

 The second, by the United Nations General Assembly, two months later, set, for the first time in history, an exact time frame of when the Israeli occupation of Palestine must end.

Mr. Mahmoud Abbas presented an eloquent speech at the UNGA  and got
applauded. Thanks to whoever is his speech writer. By contrast, war
criminal and genocide lord Netanyahu was almost a persona non grata at the
UN. Most delegates of countries chose not to attend or walked out as he
walked in (he had brought a few racist Zionists to attend as audience and
to cheer him). But these are side shows to an ongoing GENOCIDE. We live ina
world where only strength seems understood and the UN has become a hollow
chamber where politicians meet to state their positions and the US and

Following his humiliating debate performance, Donald Trump is leaning even harder on the fear factor to rally his base. At the core of that strategy is engendering fear of immigrants. “We have millions of people pouring into our country from prisons and jails, from mental institutions and insane asylums.”  He is doubling down on his calls for mass deportation, promising “the largest deportation in the history of our country.”

I am concerned that Americans have only begun to imagine how devastating mass deportation would be. There are around 11 million undocumented immigrants in the US.  Many are deeply established in their communities. The Migration Policy Institute estimates that more than three million own homes.   What will it look like when millions of established families, many of them with deep roots in their communities, are forcibly torn apart?

Never in its history of war, and military occupation has Israel been so incapable of developing a coherent plan for its future, and the future of its victims. 

 Even a quick glance at headlines in international media reveals the depth of the Israeli dilemma. While Tel Aviv continues to carry out a genocidal war against the Palestinian people in Gaza, it seems to have no idea what to do beyond simply destroying the Strip and its people. 

 Even the country's Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, who could soon be officially wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), indicated on multiple occasions that Israel has no post-war plan in Gaza. 

CNN claims Trump told many lies and Harris just one. Yet, CNN did not
mention that Harris repeated that Hamas killed 1200 Israelis on 7 October
and that they raped women. Both not true (see ongaza.org for evidence). Why
