BREAKING News: “Keystone XL Pipeline Clears Major Hurdle; State Department Report Raises No Major Objections.” However, this study was outsourced and was done by a Canadian Company with financial ties to the company building the pipeline.
The Koch Brothers bought the only refinery in North America which can refine heavy oil from Sunoco about two years ago in anticipation of the Pipeline being built. The heavy oil now refined by that specialty plant comes from Venezuela. It costs much more than oil from the Tar Sands. The Koch Brothers are spending large sums to get conservatives who have no interest in the environment, to support building the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Secretary of State Kerry, who has the responsibility of evaluating it, recommends that the Keystone XL Pipeline be built. President Obama will make the decision soon. Secretary Kerry hates Venezuela because the leaders stole his wife's Heinz tomato farms and ketchup factory in Venezuela.
I have been following and doing research on the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline since the Railroad, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials Sub Committee of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee of the House of Representatives held the first hearing on it, which I viewed on C-SPAN.
I have evidence to verify every fact above and in the summary letter which follows.

Dear Mr. President:
Allowing the Keystone XL Pipe line to be built through the U.S. would be an environmental disaster because:
· Tar Sands Oil is heavier than water. It sinks. It is impossible to remove.
· It would contaminate the Missouri and Mississippi rivers and important aquifers.
· New, as well as old oil pipelines break frequently. Weld fail.
· It is also unsafe to ship Heavy Oil by rail or truck, because when accidents occur, the tanks sometimes rupture and water supplies are contaminated.
· It would increase the profit of the Koch Brothers by an estimated $ 2 billion/year, since they own the only facility in North America which can refine Heavy Oil. It is located on the Gulf Coast.
· Piping or shipping Tar Sands Oil through the U.S, would not increase the supply or lower the cost of petroleum fuels for the U. S.
· The Keystone XL Pipe line would kill more jobs than it would create.”, Global Labor Institute, Cornell Engineers, September 28, 2011.
The Tar Sands Oil is a valuable asset which will be harvested.
Alternative ways that Canada can sell the Tar Sands Oil on the world market:
· Pipe or ship it to the Canadian west coast.
· Pipe or ship it to the St Lawrence Seaway.
The provincial and local governments don’t want the Tar Sands Oil to be piped through their areas because of the risk to their water supplies. Why should the U.S. allow it?
The solution:
The U. S. would refine the Tar Sands Oil at the Canadian-U. S. boarder.
· The gasoline, Diesel fuel and heating oil would then be safely piped or shipped to all parts of the U. S. where it is needed.
· It would lower the price of these fuels in the U.S.
· It would provide fuel as alternative renewable sources of energy, especially wind and solar are becoming price competitive.
· It would create many high paying jobs.
Please do not allow the Keystone XL Pipeline to be built through the U.S.
Sincerely,
