Everybody Knows with Dr. Bob and Dan-o
The headline in the paper reads "Kasich says critics will answer to God."
Jan. 31 Gov. Kasich was caught on video calling ProgressOhio “nihilists” who want nothing more than to “wreck Ohio’s economy and destroy people’s jobs…and shame on them.”
Kasich didn’t stop there. Kasich crossed the line by saying that ProgressOhio is “going to have to answer to a much higher power than me”.
The governor was angry at ProgressOhio for our work to make sure his JobsOhio program follows the Ohio Constitution. He swore to uphold the Ohio Constitution, not just the parts he likes. ProgressOhio is simply participating in the checks and balances system that keeps power-hungry politicians in line.
John Kasich might not like what we do -- but it is essential to protecting your rights as taxpayers.

This month, we celebrate four decades of constitutionally protected reproductive rights! As Roe v. Wade turns 40, join us in recognizing the past work done to gain those rights and the present work to preserve them for future generations. This year, we're proud to invite you to three great events across Ohio. We hope to see you at an event in your area.

Ever since 2004, when Vanunu was released from 18 yrs. in a tomb sized windowless cell for telling THE TRUTH about Israel's WMD facility [in 1986!] he has relied on reporters to tell his story to the world.
THE MEDIA has failed, so it is up to YOU and ALL people of good conscience to become The Media and spread the NEWS about WHY Israel continues to deny Vanunu his Human Rights!
On Dec. 10, 2012 -which was after a 19 month WAIT- for Interior Minister Eli Yishai to respond to his appeal to revoke his Israeli citizenship, Vanunu finally received a reply:
"The interior minister answer my letter to him to cancel my Israel citizenship. He wrote, I will be happy to do it, but security people don't recommend it because I can damage Israel image and security..."

I am extremely proud of our pre-election activism. Andrew Kreig at Justice Integrity Project (Did Expert Witness, Activists Thwart a Rove Ohio Vote Plot?) speculates that we (freepress.org) may have prevented another stolen election. Art Levin at Huffington Post agrees as does Brad Friedman at Bradblog.
We need your support! The Free Press went into the red in this effort. We do not send emails asking for money before we get started, instead we get to work and ask for help later :). As a result, we need to ask our friends and supporters to contribute what you can to support what has already been done.
If you saw the Karl Rove meltdown on Fox News on election night, you might have been unaware that the Secretary of State AND the Cuyahoga County websites went off-line at approximately the same time as Rove's meltdown. Deja Vu, election night 2004.
What we sometimes refer to derisively as "establishment" media validated our reporting efforts.

This afternoon, members of the House Health Committee voted 11-9 along party lines to pass House Bill 298, the clear purpose of which is to defund Planned Parenthood in Ohio.
Despite testimony from doctors, clergy, rape survivors and advocates, social workers, and me—all in opposition to the bill—it now heads to the full House of Representatives for a vote.
Enough is enough! Let's call on Governor Kasich to show real leadership as the head of his party to shut this down. Take two actions now to send a clear message.
Call and email Governor Kasich to tell him what you think Donate today to support our efforts to defend against these attacks.
We must hold our decision-makers accountable and demand that they focus their efforts on building a healthier Ohio and respect women and their health care choices. Stand with Planned Parenthood today.

On Tuesday, voters across America overwhelmingly rejected politicians' attacks on women's health. Today, politicians in the Ohio Statehouse have nevertheless continued those attacks.
The Ohio House Health Committee has scheduled a VOTE for the bill to defund Planned Parenthood health centers in Ohio on Wednesday, November 14.
Politicians in the Ohio Senate have also signaled an intent to move the "heartbeat" abortion ban bill, even after making statements that there would not be controversial legislation moved during the end of the legislative calendar.
Governor Kasich has appointed Ohio Right to Life President Mike Gonadakis to the Ohio State Medical Board - a position for which he is unqualified beyond directing attacks on women's health care.
Your action is urgently needed to tell legislators that these attacks are completely unacceptable. Women have the right to make their own health care decisions and they need access to their own doctor in their own community. Please email the Representatives and Senators who will be deciding the fate of these attacks in the coming days:

With Congress expected to vote on the renewable energy production tax credit (PTC) extension during the “lame duck” session following the elections, now is the time for our industry and our allies to emphasize to our elected officials that wind power serves in the country’s strategic interest.
We ask you to take a moment to sign our petition to Congress that does just that – urges a PTC extension as a strategic move for the U.S.
The PTC is an effective tool to encourage development of proven renewable energy projects. Equipped with the PTC, the wind industry has driven over $15 billion of private investments into the U.S. economy in each of the past five years, and has grown the U.S. manufacturing sector to include nearly 500 wind-related facilities. With the PTC set to expire on December 31st, 37,000 wind industry jobs and over $10 billion of related private investments are at risk.

The Columbus Free Press is joining with Video the Vote, the Ohio Green Party and dozens of citizen activists around Ohio and the nation to defend voting rights on Election Day 2012.
We have established an operations center in Columbus at the Free Press offices. We will operate from this disclosed location, deploying videographers, accredited poll monitors, lawyers and journalists wherever they are needed on Election Day.
We will record on video any attempts at voter intimidation and harassment.
We will seek injunctions on behalf of citizens wherever their rights are violated.
We monitor the vote precincts to see that no voting machines are tampered with.
We will visually monitor the vote count in selected counties.
Our team of nearly two dozen online monitors will be watching the count for statistical anomalies and catch and record them as they happen.
We will communicate the facts on the ground to the public via stories on our website, video and twitter (follow us @freepressorg).
We will provide in-depth coverage before during and after the election.

Here are some things anyone can do on Election Day:
Document any of these things and let the Free Press know during the day or immediately after the polls close:
1) Do all machines work at the beginning of the day? Were there any problems getting them to work?
2) Did any technicians come in to do any "service" on the machines during the day?
3) Are people being turned away from voting for any reason? Are many people made to vote provisionally for any reason? How many? What are the reasons?
4) Are there any people hanging around wearing suits, not identifying themselves, or challengers intimidating people, challenging their right to vote, or otherwise interfering with voters? Please take photos of them and their automobile license plates.
5) Lists of who voted are posted at 11am and 4pm at polling sites. Do those numbers match the print-out at the end of the night?
6) VERY IMPORTANT: At close of polls, the pollworkers are required to print out and post the results on the outside of the door for the public to view. Document through a photo and/or write down the final polling site results: how many people voted, who they voted for.
