Learn how to protect our community and to take action when there are ICE sightings
The Care Economy Organizing (CEO) Project unequivocally condemns the fear, intimidation, and threats targeting child care providers and immigrant communities in Ohio. Political extremists and bad-faith actors are deliberately stoking panic and hostility, placing families, small business owners, and the workforce that protects our children at risk. This behavior is dangerous, destabilizing, and has no place in Ohio or in our democracy.
We specifically denounce the actions and rhetoric of self-described “investigators”, who are targeting publicly funded child care centers. This misinformation and intimidation threatens the safety of Ohioans. These tactics, rooted in xenophobia and political opportunism, are designed to terrorize the community, not uncover the truth.
Civil War? It is necessary for the citizens to confront the government, but now, we can expect the government to escalate. This is uncharted territory but encouraging and necessary. The idea of Americans in uniform shooting at other Americans in uniform is now a possibility.

BREAKING: Governor Tim Walz preps the National Guard to EVICT Trump's goons from Minnesota after an ICE agent killed a woman on camera in Minneapolis.
This is the kind of leadership that the moment demands!
"From here on, I have a very simple message. We do not need any further help from the federal government. To Donald Trump and Kristi Noem: You've done enough," Walz announced.
"There's nothing more important than Minnesotans' safety," he continued. "I've issued a warning order to prepare the Minnesota National Guard. We have soldiers in training and prepared to be deployed if necessary."

The country keeps trying to file these incidents as separate folders.
Minneapolis: ICE shoots and kills a woman in the street.
Portland: federal agents shoot two people during a vehicle stop.
Columbus: residents trade sightings in group chats and Facebook posts, because official channels won’t — or can’t — provide clarity.
But the folders all belong in the same cabinet.
Because the pattern isn’t random. It’s procedural.
And the question Columbus keeps avoiding isn’t “Is this happening here?”
It’s: “How close are we to it turning deadly?”
A 48-hour timeline of federal force — and public backlash
Wednesday, Jan. 7 — Minneapolis
A 37-year-old woman, Renée Nicole Macklin Good, is shot and killed by an ICE agent in south Minneapolis during a federal operation. Within hours, competing narratives harden: federal officials frame it as self-defense; local leaders say the video doesn’t support the story.
The killing happens less than a mile from where George Floyd was murdered — in a city that has become global shorthand for what state violence looks like when it’s caught on camera.
ICE is playing catch-up to the Ohio Immigrant Alliance, finally publishing numbers about arrests during Operation Buckeye weeks after we did.

A broad coalition of groups across the country is calling for a coordinated Ice Out For Good Weekend of Action on Saturday, January 10th and Sunday, January 11th to demand accountability, honor the life lost, and make visible the human cost of ICE’s actions.
A core principle behind all ICE Out For Good events is a commitment to nonviolent action and no civil disobedience. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values, and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. All events should be held in public spaces or on public property.
The elements behind Trump’s war on Venezuela are fourfold.
They center on the theft of Venezuela’s oil; the removal of Cuba’s primary lifeline; the protection of the dollar-based petrodollar; and Trump’s desperate need to deflect attention from the deepening quagmire that is the Epstein scandal.
And the ultimate question they raise is: will his blatantly illegal violation of U.S. and international law finally result in the impeachment and removal of Trump from the White House or the 2026 mid-term elections lead to an end of his destructive control of the U.S. government.
The lethal litany of reasons for Trump’s invasion is led by the U.S. seeking Venezuela’s huge reserves of oil—it supposedly has 303 billion barrels compared to the U.S. with but 45. After Venezuela is Saudi Arabia with 267 and Iran with 208 and then the list drops by 100.
While Trump pretends he is saving Latin America, Greenland, and other places where he wants to plant the US flag, and presumably his brand, his war on the poor in America has reached new, unconscionable extremes. In recent weeks he has blocked childcare funds from Minnesota, as he tried to exploit a welfare scam there which as crushed the career of Governor, and recent Vice-President candidate, Walz. Now he has taken all of this another tragic step forward and blocked both welfare and childcare funds from Minnesota, New York, California, Colorado, and Illinois, claiming scandal, while offering no proof or evidence of any such thing. This is just crazy.
TANF or the Temporary Assistance to Needy Families is a miserly program that renamed welfare assistance like AFDC, Aid to Families with Dependent Children, in the Clinton presidency. One of the changes made these welfare payments block grants, allowing governors and legislators to divert fund away from the poorest American families to other ends or in some cases to not distribute the full amounts because of the Scrooge like policies.
Is this political? Heck, yes!
